That had nothing to do with what took the car out of Le Mans this year. So once the car was done it was good in that respect.

Apologies for the two slight errors I had read the press release too hastly. As for the second chassis, I meant second that would be more than just test mule

So umm Strakka had two S103 chassis. And now they have decided to bin the race going chassis from actual competition in favor of old open top Zytek, and make it a test mule for their new P1 car. Even though they already had existing test mule right.
Do they plan to use both of their existing Dome chassis for such test usage, or does Dome officially own the second one and they want to keep it for whatever reason, or do Strakka just use the race car solely and let the other one rot in some dungeon (in that case perhaps implying that they ditched Dome for Zytek because it'd get better results). In any case, with Strakka developing a car on their own and not wanting to purchase the LMP1 version of S103 that does exist as windtunnel model and rendering plan, it does mean that their relationship with Dome is about done right. And so is quite possibly Dome's legacy at Le Mans. |

It appears Strakka are in safe hands design wise, they have been using Keiron Salters KWM operation to help them out with the Dome LMP2 project since late 2014, who I should point out was the driving force behind the design of the original Reynard LMP2 chassis that eventually morphed into a Zytek and Gibson with considerable re-work, but its still the same monocoque core, my overall point being that KWM do know what they are doing and seem well in bed with Strakka who appear to be well funded, so best of luck to them......personally I think the ACO are doing the right thing, there are too many "loaded" competitors in LMP2 who should be in LMP1, the official LMP1 privateer class is a good move.

Yes.
Probably. At least at Le Mans. Until they resurrect again in 2047 to do 3 races with aim for highest top speed or something. |

Sad days. Dome were always a company with high ambitions, despite their small resources. I'll miss them.

TRD may have taken their lmp team, so they might live on in spirit. Maybe Sard finds funds to run the s103 lmp1 or Strakka possibly makes adjustments to fit it in 2017?

A retirement commemorative party of Minoru Hayashi was held at Kyoto on July 15. He retires from all racing activity.
A new president of Dome is Takuya Takahashi. (New owner is Takahiro Ikawa.) Takahashi declared that second generations Dome will develop new racing car and road going sportscar in addition to GT300 Mother Chassis car and FIA-F4 in the party. http://motorpress.jugem.jp/?eid=1131 http://serakota.blog.so-net.ne.jp/2015-07-16 |

Dome doesn't have an autoclave.
Therefore carbon parts would be produced in Toray Carbon Magic. New HQ would be an assembly place. |

I see, so I guess that it won't be a hassle when it comes to logistics.
Still, it's gonna be a tough job for Dome to make LMP3 cars across the world! |

Dome has completed a new HQ office building.
Dome announces cooperation with KCMG (CFRP business). Dome takes charge of designing and developing CFRP products, and KCMG produces it. http://jp.motorsport.com/f3/news/%E7...%A1%A8-740334/ Press release (Japanese) https://www.value-press.com/pressrelease/163006 Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 26 May 2016 at 09:32. |
