The AU that Sieders is using is an ex. Tratt AU.
I think this one started off life as the very original Briggs AU (Car 70 with the Supercheap sponsorship) built around 1999. |

Here's another bit of history.
http://www.my105.com/classified.asp?id=8797 This is the ex Schembri gearbox car trashed by Gary Quartly at Phillip Island a few years ago and later resurrected by Richard Mork. Why it is dressed in Mobil colours is beyond me... |

Schembri gearbox? Was that just a sponsor, or a special part?

I know how much it was bought for and what has been spent on it, and at that price there has been a huge tear up of cash. Plus last time I saw it it had a lot of work to be done to get it going agian, which as far as I know has not been done. The owner has another ex perkins car to run in the latest series for ex v8 supercar clunkers. |

Speaking of history
http://www.my105.com/classified.asp?id=8739 Did this car ever run after it clobbered the wall @ People's Trust Holden corner (or whater it was called) during the 1980 Sandown Hang Ten 400.... The pic looks to be of it in its 1980 spec... |

Motivated to sell, yes. When the new Ford model comes online there will be a glut of old Fords on the market for the development series. Britek has 5 current model cars in the workshop right now. Selling the spares now for a good price and taking the risk of not having a spare makes sense. |

What happened to the Graeme Crosby VK raced at Bathurst 1986? Was this car a HDT customer car?

my memory is a bit vague on this but I do remember LP's name being mentioned in its history, I wasnt sure because I couldnt remember when LP started making customer cars. It was a pretty quick car, didnt it break a tailshaft early on but still finished well?

From memory it was a Perkins supervised build, surely would have been during his final months at HDT though, the lead time between then (Perkins competed for HDT as late as Rd8 of the ATCC at Lakeside) & the 1985 Castrol 500 (i think it ran there??) would have been too short to build a car, as he moved to Dick Johnson in the meantime as well.
The Crosby car was for sale a while back, it had been restored to its 1986 James Hardie 1000 look. Was it's last ATCC appearance in 1988 at Symmons Plains, in Peter Fitzgerald's hands? Not a touring car, but no one will know on the rally forum, what happened to these three cars from Australian rallying?? -Greg Carr's Fiat Abarth 131 -Geoff Portman's troublesome Bluebird -Greg Carr's Group A Alfa Romeo GTV6 & Lancia Delta Integrale |

The Croz Commodore must be older than you think, he acquired the car from Ray Smith, it was the Auckland Bullion car in 1985. It was well cared for during Smith's ownership and had the good bits thrown at it, and had Denny Hulme co-drive at Bathurst. It was one of the cars that got the Getrag gearboxes that the HDT had ordered (but failed to deliver despite taking the money), which makes sense if HDT built the car as the contacts would already be in place. |

The Ex Croz/Ray Smith Commodore was built by HDT (alonside the Gerald Kay car), but maintained by LP, then I think it was looked after by Les Small..

What do you mean by black group a tooheys cars? Tooheys sponsored the race not the cars so everyone carried the Tooheys 1000 stickers. Do you mean the black/pink Barbagallo Commodores? Bob Pearson Commodores? Bob Jones Commdores? Mark Petch Sierra? Murray Carter Sierra? Someone else?
