No doubt

Interesting story out of sunny SEQ in the last few days... that the REC looking to be purchased by 888 may not actually be the dormant JRR one, instead the REC held predominantly by Mr Brabeck & co..

If true, and its raining & hailing in Sydney today, so connections may be unhappy... its a big move!

Presuming any of this actually happened

Yes.

That should make things interesting down in the PRA camp.

Mr Van Gisbergen said on RPM yesterday that 888 had 60 people working there...

Couldn't they lease another for 111? Or buy the JRR REC...?

Start Clipsal later & compress the season - 2/3 weeks between races!

Symmons Plains may aswell have been run last year...

Well it's not replacing if you just take his RBR sponsored seat while he goes to a separate single sponsored car as the 3rd wheel!

I can feel another long, drawn out, and ultimately painfully embarrassing, "retirement tour" coming up…… Please don't do a Russell Ingal or Michael Schumacher and become a grid filler, instead do a Casey Stoner / Troy Bayliss, and retire when you're on top. And don't attempt a "comeback" either ( Ambrose, what a joke ).

What is embarassing about a driver doing what they love? Especially when people are still willing to employ them?

A driver should keep racing for as long as they want to, and make as many comebacks as they want to, it is their life afterall.

Mr Lowndes (and his management team) seems to have accumulated a decemt roster of commercial partners over the years, there is no reason to think that they might not enjoy some on-car signage as well.

There ismt too much square footage (inchage?) on the current RBRA machines to put any more stickers on board...

There's been talk of some number shuffling off the back of the SvG/Triple Eight alignment, too.

As it is, #1 is really #88. There is chat that Triple Eight may be in the throws of acquiring #8 off the travelling Alburies

SBR so far seem to have been sensible about how they have gone about getting into the series, to this point. IMHO Dragon were not sensible in their approach. So that comparison is unfair as the situation currently stands.

It depends where you stand.. if you stand in the view that to participate in the series is the goal, as opposed to compete, each equally have merit and non-merit.

SuperBlack have done very well thus far, taking advantage of known yet rented infrastructure.

Except Super Black have delivered on everything they've said they were going to do.... Dragon have talked an incredible game and delivered very little.

Which ever way you want to look at it Super Black are participating in the main game and are being competitive..... Dragon ain't, aren't and look like closer to the Erebus school of "spend first, think later" than what has to date been a pretty well though out approach to participating competitively in V8 Supercars.
