I think i may have suggested this before.Perhaps BE would consider installing some sort of random sprinkler system to spice up some of the races. He ought to start with Hungary.

There must be pun potential there........
It has been mentioned by lots of people over the years, but thankfully it has seemed to be ignored completely if the person meant it - or laughed at if it was only ever meant as a joke! Imagine if they actually seriously tried it.......... that would be a real situation....... |

Practice and qualifying are incidental.
It's the race that matters. |

and now, now we're "entertained" by unlucky drivers who have to go out in the rain spinning off, or the world champion tip toeing around into 18th place...because its their slot. i'm missing something obviously.. |

I think at the moment BE will be quite happy the way things are turning out.He is only interested in the entertainment side of things and if yesterday annoyed the purist element,it would certainly have won over a few casual viewers which let's face it keep F1 on TV anyway.

Well not sure that is true. The essence of sport is having a competition whereby the competitors succeed or fail depending, as far as possible, on their own actions/abilites IMHO.

that is true, but I was willing to accept that possibility. I used to find qualifying deeply excitign and interesting, but from 2003 on I am afraid, in the most part, that spark has gone.
One of the aspects I did like when they changed it in 2003 was getting to see a session on Friday, that was class, but they soon made sure they removed that bit of positive feeling.......... |

On the subject of DC. Had this been last year his time in the second qualifying would have been good enough for, hmm 4th!

I liked the race.... no problems with the result, but I think if I'd paid for seats to watch qualifying I would have felt short changed.
