Is there any news on the Toprace v8? the other series are busy with new cars for next year but Toprace seem very quite.

The TR has a big problem in the fact that the same owners are trying to change the TC2000, which is a bigger series that has more impact than the TR

The prototype is there tho.

To me Toprace really seems to lack an clear identity, would it be better to merge it with TC2000 and form a really strong touring car series or even a new single seater series.

Isn't TR mainly for gentlemen drivers?

Originally it was the series to fill the weekends of TC and TC2000 drivers that didn't want to do TN, it worked amazingly well for a time, nowadays the TN has a lot of interest from drivers and TR mostly goes for the drivers that, while amazingly good, can't seem to get a stable foot on the other series of the country, like Josito Di Palma

IMHO, the TR should reformulate itself in a big powerful formula (pun not intended) instead of trying to compete in Touring Car Country against the popular TN, Big Brother TC2000 and the TC that is capable of anouncing a renovation one day and have the cars built in the next month while having 50 cars in track (and said renovation being the same concept that the TR has been anouncing for years)

Today, with the TC Mouras, and alongside the Formula 3 Metro,some of the regional formulae raced in la plata, including the Formula 5 (that uses bike engines) and Formula 1300 (the one with the old designs)

The cars of the Formula 1300

(thinking better, yeah, the Crespi Tulia 25 and the TITO of the FN are 20 year old designs, modernized and with the halos added, but being low power formulas and with a proven safety record, there is not much to change)

The TC2000 will run the 200 km de Buenos Aires on October 8.

Honda has announced its pairings:
  • Facundo Ardusso / Ricardo Risatti
  • Bernardo Llaver / Santiago Urrutia
  • Javier Scuncio Moro / Martin Scuncio Moro

The top drivers now race TC, Pickups and TN, which has kind of killed interest in both TC2000 and Toprace.

The TN doesn't have nearly all top drivers.

Missing are Rossi, Ledesma, Ardusso, Di Palma, Landa, Mangoni, Todino and Aguirre among others.

If Barrio ends winning the championship, will get the licencse for the TC, but still needs to race a year of TCP per the rules.

Nothing to severe, considering Santero, Landa, Quijada, Catalan Magni and Todino, all currently fighting the championship, went that route.

The TC license goes for:
The TC Mouras champion after a year on TCP
The TCP Champion and the 2nd
The TC Pista Pick Up (Seriously, ACTC... your naming conventions suck) Champion and 2nd get to race on TC Pick Up and TC Pista, but... if they're already racing on TCP and on the first 10 places there, they get to get to go to TC
Drivers that have at least/arround 100 Races between TCP and TCPK, but conditionally, as the ACTC will use the first 5 meetings on the TC to evaluate them, and they could revoke the license.
And finally, the ACTC reserves the right to ascend anyone provided the driver is ranked in TC Pista, evaluating the history of races, victories and disciplinary background during the last 2 years

All of this was clarified/written as rules because Chapur last year.

If everything goes well Chapur should enter TC next year one way or another
