Can we expect anything from the Subaru? Looking at the BOP, the cars seem to be quite rubbish. I would have expected the Opel to be pretty much equal to the VW, but it seems equal to the Alfa Romeo.
I'm looking forward to the races, but I wonder if Bahrain is a suitable track for touring cars. Long straights and tight hairpin corners are not very suitable for touring cars, the WTCC has teached us that. Singapore last year seems to be a perfect touring car track. |

Seats and Hondas on top... VW struggling, Opel, Subaru and Alfa even more so. |

Meanwhile, Pepe Oriola tops the free practices, Morbidelli is very close to him and good impressions have come from Vernay and Pellinen. Comini is quite far from the top, but he will surely improve tomorrow. |

Is this a photoshop?
Even though I don't really like this track, I enjoyed race one, lots of good racing through out. Hoping though that the Opel, Subaru, Alfa & Ford (when they join) are more competitive, I want to see them up front racing with Volkswagen, Seat & Honda. |

Fantastic development for TCR within a year. Just few numbers for comparison of last year first round and this year first round.
Racing field: QUANTITY: 14 cars started to race 1 last year, 18 cars started to race 1 this year 3 manufactures started to race 1 last year, 6 manufactures started to race 1 this year QUALITY - manufactures: Last year - 9 of 14 cars were SEATs, 2 of 14 cars were "illegal" Audi TT This year - only 8 of 18 cars were SEATs, all cars are legal QUALITY - riders All top riders from last year (top 8 riders from final classification) stayed in the championship, which is quite important for the identity of this series. Well-known names were added - James Nash or Karl-Vernay besides other. QUALITY - teams All top teams stayed in the championship (this is as well important for identity of TCR), few more established teams from other championships added (Leopard Racing for example). Racing was as good as last year (maybe even better), although circuit in Bahrain is not ideal venue for touring cars! I am very satisfied :-). |

Loving that car, looks really agressive! Will be interesting to find out more about it, I guess this is the car Stohl was developing.

Good races for the most part.
First race was quite good, and agree Morbidelli was great. Second race wasn't as good but was still alright. It was nice to Borkovic go well in qualifying, as he's a pretty likeable guy, but how about Comini using him as a wrecking ball in the first race to take out two cars and Borkovic able to continue? Those Seats are tough. Leopard guys have to be disappointed with the weekend, with Comini (indirectly) taking out Vernay. The mess in the second race with Comini was pretty silly. Yeah, Grachev ran him wide and didn't leave room to get back on the track, but after that Comini had the line and didn't need to bang doors with him two more times after getting back on track. I understand Comini probably wasn't happy, but he did it to himself. Would have been nice to see an onboard of Morbidelli for the overtake on Gleason in the second race, from the TV camera angle it was really hard to see whether Gleason closed down on him or if Gianni bounced out into Gleason off the curb on the inside or what. Kinda put's a mark on the weekend after Morbidelli drove so well in race 1. Was really hoping the Alfa wouldn't turn up with those awful white fender flares/bumper skins. If they painted the car a solid color (obviously red) then it would look a lot better I think. I actually thought the track worked better for the touring cars than I expected. |

Comini must run quieter, I'm saying this since last year, maybe he think that he can do what he wants on track. Ridiculous strike in race 1 and ridiculous behavior in race 2 with Grachev.

I enjoyed both races.
Stupid move from Comini in race 2. About the Kia. The Stohl Fords in World Rallycross Championship perform well so I am confident the Kia's will do too. |

According 2 TCR Thailand website, after Kia there is expected Peugeot (obviously) and Audi to return, which makes up the 3 manufacturers Lotti reported to enter mid season.

And with SEAT and VW already involved I would say there is some internal conflict. |
