How is it when I go into the track side of the pit garages wearing shorts I get yelled at but a supercar pitcrew can do it as shown in photos here. I think I will print it off and show it to the next official who tries to stop me.

Maybe the shorts aren't the problem, it could be your legs.....

were the photos taken during qualifying/practice or during the race? I think they are allowed to wear shorts other than when during the race

WTF???

I've been in some sort of time warp what with a lot going on recently. So, I went to the V8 website to check for results, times, etc. I was a bit disappointed that the Top Ten results have yet to be posted. Hmm. Over to Natsoft to get the full results (V8 website shows top 4 or 5).

I then went to www.yourtv.com.au to check the program guide. Imagine my disappointment, particularly with all the hype that Freeview is going on about, that Prime HD is showing some second rate sci-fi show and something about horses. Melbourne's Seven HD is showing the same pap.

Anyone here know why Seven isn't broadcasting the V8s in HD?

Finally, what's the with JD Racing and Perkins? Does he still run the show? I see that Dodo racing and some other fellow who didn't qualify appear to be running out of the same workshop going by the team address and website details.

And apologies if I'm going over old stuff. I haven't been around for a while.

V8 Supercars TV does not have the equipment to broadcast in HD.

While Courtney seems to be doing a good job making himself the new 'homewrecker' at DJR...

Trying to imitate Dale Wood at Turn 8, then spinning Dumbrell... (It was Dumbrell wasn't it?)...

Apart from that, I thought it was a great race today. 'Intensity' seems to be the new buzzword this year for Channel 7...

I must admit, I'm impressed with Mr. Wood. He drove a good, clean race from pitlane and was rewarded with a 14th place finish... And big kudos to Toddler! Shame it counts for zip tomorrow... Still, what a great race. Those cars might just have some speed!

Perkins always built 'em tough...

seems Mr Courtney is hell bent on repeating his 08 Clipsal form.

Murph seriously i like you but WTF.

888 running away was boring, good job by Lee repeating his 08 form here.

Toddler great drive, shame the poor bloke has to go back to the back. this qualifying rule is as useless as tits on a ****ing bull.

Points of interest I found today...
  • Those bloody XXXX angels dancing in between the driver introductions just ****ed me off. We didn't need to see them between every driver pan. They may make good viewing if you are at the track, but we didn't need so much chopping and changing of viewpoints during the driver intros. They might have started all dancing at the same time, but bloody hell Mr Bean would have a better chance of staying in time with the others!
  • I didn't see much, if any, of car #4. Was it there? I am assuming Mr Davison of the A variety just didn't perform anywhere near where the cameras were pointing.
  • Turn 8 isn't any better. You need massive amounts of tyre bundles on the exit of it. And they have to be deep deep deep.
  • If people really beleive the hyp about the FG being any different than the BF, then they have got another thing coming. Its just cosmetic sheet metal changes guys, the professional teams will still be running at the top of the pile.
  • Steven Richards was up to his old useless self. You'd think he'd perform at least somewhere near the top 10 when the Prodrive boss is around...
  • Craig Lowndes is now the number 2 in that team, well and truly. He didn't have the car consistency throughout the entire race (never mind the dud power steering)
  • Rick Kelly musn't be a happy chappy...
  • The Autobarn car is the best looking one out there. HRT is pretty nice too, and the SP Tools car has gone from simply the worst livery last year to one of the better ones this year. I don't like the BOC livery now that its been on TV in action.
  • It's quite amusing to see the non factory backed fords trounce the factory backed ones.
  • I hope they've got cameras rolling around Mr Rogers and Mr Murhpy post race. Now that would be entertaining.
  • Will Davison did a pretty darn good job. A ****house start, made up by good consistent quick driving. Interesting to see him clear from Johnson in the last part of the race, old teammates both in new cars.
  • Russell Ingall didn't perform as one might have expected. Where were the cameras when mr slade returned to mr morris saying "sorry"...

I'm not drawing any conclusions until we hear Murph's story. For all we know, Caruso could have backed off unexpectedly...

Nope, tyres won't work there.... they need "SAFER" barriers: see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAFER_Barrier

And on both sides after turn 8, as even when cars only glance the outside wall, they usually spin and hit the inside wall very hard at quite a nasty angle. eg. Caruso.

can someone explain how Todd can be at the back after his great finish - thts a whole lot of BS

Todd, Rick and Dale would of been happy with their day - shame Jack got squeezed out after being 4th in the warmup......it was either the wall or Toddler's car... talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place!

Ummm, assuming this is a serious question.... New rules this year mean that drivers start both races in the same place as they qualified. As opposed to starting where they finished in the previous race.

I reckon it would be better if they had a 2nd qualy session on sunday morn!

Jamie's good fortune continues.

Finished 2nd overall in the 'Rexona Greatest Althlete' to Billy Slater.

Not bad for someone who 'just sits down and drives' as most of the other competitors said.

Steve Hookers ego will still be trying to come to terms with this.

Yeah, no problems, Skaife did quite well I thought......but I'm wondering if they'll get sick of their own continual "wisecracks" and get offside with each other.

Appears as though Courtney has caused a red flag in the morning warm-up. Only car not in pitlane.

Edit: Hit the wall in turn 3.

Your kidding right? If its too hot, stop driving, not drive around and continually run into people (not that thats any different to last year when he suit was fine)

Interesting to see the Kelly cars again very fast in the warm up this morning.

Hopefully Perkins and Wood can convert that into a result this afternoon.

D'Alberto looks to have improved pace this year too. Would be nice to see this small outfit do well over the year.

I also noticed Tim Slade was faster than Russell Ingall in the warm up this morning.

Although they were down in 20th and 21st - about 8 tenths off 1st.

I know it's only warm up, but he seems to be stepping up to the plate quite well in only his first race meeting in the main game.

Also a good effort to make it through to the second round of qualifying.
