BTCC is regardless of anything really, really close championship because the rules help it. Everyone has a chance to win if they get things right and looking at drivers who won, were on the podium or were in the top 10 this year it's clear that it's working as it has been for years now. If a team finds a way to win lots of races within that rules then it's clear they've made things very well. End of story. That's (still and in spite of being entertainment) a sport, not a school contest that wants to please all children and their parents. |

Good action today. I’m baffled as to why failing ride height purely changing from dry to wet tires isn’t counted as “force majeure”. Also if they know changing from dry to wet can cause ride height failure then why not check the rest of the field?

It isn’t force majeure as it’s nothing like it. The teams were free to set their cars up higher if they wanted.

If it was from a change of tyre, and everyone has the same tyre, I find it odd that only 1 team failed. |

Yes, but they wear more so end up smaller

Also some will do the adjustment when they change tyres, although that obviously means a longer pit-stop |

Just another reason why having the third BTCC race be the last race of the day is a bad idea. I don't think Knockhill has a curfew does it? So they should be good to get the race in, but a late finish and drive home for spectators.

Someone is going to put Collard in the fence before long unless he stops his nonsense.

Ahhh Pearson so nearly had that! Excellent drive. Great showing from Patterson too.
Let’s see how the ride height checks go… |

BMW's are out of it Tingram only theoretical ones, it would require some huge bad luck on Sutton's part , he can now just settle for points in every race
Sutton 310 Tingram 271 Hill 260 Turkington 229 |

Sensational drive from Sutton, very very well done. Great drives from Cook and Tingram as well. Hill will want to forget about that race though, ugly move on Jelley but in fairness he probably locked the brakes and couldn't do anything about it. |

With at least 180 points available to the end of the season, it is impossible to write off any of the top contenders. If things are anything like today, then absolutely possible; never count chickens until they are hatched. |

The interview with him on the grid pretty well sums it all up; his dad said to Louse that he had told him not to try to get into a battle with Sutton and just let him get past and then capitalise on following him up the order. His outburst to Louise was to basically ignore anything that his father had said. He's a very angry young chap, seemingly with a huge chip on his shoulder; I wouldn't call him a man, yet! |

As a WSR supporter that was a pretty painful Race 3 to watch but some great driving up front.
I know we mentioned it at Croft, but once again the BMW was pretty much the slowest car over the start finish line and 3 mph down on last year based on qualifying, that could really be a problem for them in the next few races, especially Silverstone. |

A good day of racing, from what little of it was actually shown. It always amazes me how relatively few incidents there are in wet races, you'd think far more mistakes would be made than that.
ITV seriously need to give some respect to the support package. This weekend we saw: F4 - 1 of 3 races Minis - 1 of 3 races Porsches - 1 in full and a few laps of the other Legends - 2 of 6 races These series are paying a premium to be on the package, and for what? Worse coverage than a lot of club racing gets. No doubt the apologists will proclaim it as wonderful. |
