They interviewed Simona at one stage on Sunday afternoon, did she mention that she was heading off next week for an Olympic games training camp?

Correct.
She's hoping to be part of Switzerland's bobsled team. |

Thanks Umai Naa!
There was SVG, winner on Sunday and get’s to drive the mobile home back to Brisbane on Monday. No Learjet to fly him home, just Ms Dane in the copilot seat of the mobile home. |

Now that it has been found that the parity changes to the mustang would have been justified for Bathurst it would have been interesting to see if the mustangs could have taken the race to the leading camaros?

Perhaps 888 should have offered to let the Ford teams have their homologation update... in exchsange for the 150 points taken from the opening round race winner... in that scenario #97 would be leading the series... and the Fords would have done whatever the Fords would have done

It seems the gear lever bracket issues that led to the #88 and #888 DNF's also struck the #97 SVG car, albeit only on the final lap. It seems the bracket only cracked and was not broken on SVG's car. They had warned SVG to be very mindful of the issue in the race after the failure of the #88. It seems the part had already undergone several updates following problems on the works and customer cars from the start of the season. Clearly more work needed and SVG was indeed fortunate the team had told him to be gentle and take a kid glove approach to gear changing.

Whatever the intention was with the new generation cars, that has to go down as one of the dullest Bathurst races in history. Not a phrase I thought I'd ever use about anything that happened at such a great track.

Maybe the mustangs could have taken the race to the camaros if the changes had been allowed?

There was plenty of good little battles going on all race down the field from my vantage point. Did the director just focus on the leaders running round alone? |

I agree, the race was boring because of the tyre selection. The soft tyre was used to make the lap times look better for Gen 3. Only everyone is racing at 70 to 80% as to not kill the tyre. Also the BS top speed of 300kph will got all day, other than the Supercars live timing showing mid to high 280+kph. SVG also said at the Thursday press conference, he had managed a 291kph going flat through the chase. The others hadn't hit that. It was said with a taller drop gear they could hit 300kph, they didn't end up using that gear, so how were they still hitting that speed?

Hazelwood hardly seemed to get a mention when the runners and riders were being drawn up for the various seats that became available. Maybe a bit too much seat hopping. Much like Nick Percat, he would have better off knuckling down at BJR.

As to your last point I think they generally give way too much air time to pitched battles for 17th that no one except anoraks give a rats about. If there isn’t much going on with the first 6-8 cars you will lose people. |
