Chris Townsend should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Davy

Don't suppose we could get a trace on the Reid B42? There are several 'ex Daly' B42s in the late 70s and early 80s [notably those of Gibson and Stokes] and it would be nice to work out which was which.

It would be great to get something off the ground with historics. There must be enough Atlantics out there in Ireland alone to fill a grid and if you could get EJ involved maybe there would be enough money to coax Bryan Miller over here with
Eddie's old March 74B; and his old Chevron is here in UK on a new tub.

Chris, I thought we were OK on Daly B42s. The one pictured is the ex Gibson car, -08. Garon/Regout had -09, and Stokes/Wainwright -02. My 'mystery' Redman/Gold Cup car looks like it may well be the Opert/Elgh car, -12 (from much higher up this thread!).

Tommy Reid's car is very likely to be Gary Gibson's Protectacar B42. If you check out the album here on pages 1 and 3 you'll see some pictures of it in 1979 with Gary at the wheel in Ingliston. By the way there's lots of other Atlantic goodies in this album too.

If you wanna get in touch with Tommy, you can reach him here :

The Phoenix Park 70s Festival would indeed be a great idea. Does anyone have a private e-mail for EJ that he reads ? If so, could they PM me with it and I can give it a shot ? If not, I have a couple of other ideas on how to get the embers of the idea alight. Its worth a try isn't it ? I'd definitely be up to doing what little I can to make it happen... I know there are a lot of people who would chip in with cars for a festival like that.

Give you a laugh. I was just browsing a [very] old Autosport... 05.08.1976 to be exact... and in the 'weekend sport' section there's a bit about Tommy Reid 'coming out of retirement' with his Brabham BT38/40 for the 46th running of the Craigantlet Hillclimb. Can you imagine somebody, who had retired in 1976, still racing F3000 single seaters today ! An amazing man.

Should we rename this thread? Having gone through it, it looks like it's nearly all about Chevrons from the B42 up to the B56; mostly B42 and B48.

How about a simple title of "Chevron B42 to B56"?

Allen / John , on page 8 we also have a distinct Chevron B48 thread, that would need to be amalgamated or linked .????????
We really have strayed far and wide .

Bryan.

Rats! And they completely overlap with each other. OK, I'll go through this thread and identify B48 posts that we can shovel into the Chevron B48 thread. I'm not sure what this thread will then be. I'll see if it makes sense to put the B49s with the B48s.

I would have thought that the B47, B48 and B49 posts all belong in just ONE thread.

I feel some of the Chevrons could easily be grouped together. Partially due to the limited number of chassis built but also due to the similarity of the cars.

I had already spotted your comments, thanks.
