morninggents should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What a great shot of the three stalwarts of northern 1 litre saloon racers of the 60s/70s. Andy Barton on the left was the man to beat but Cedric Bell in the Mini to the right of Alex Clacher's Imp was always right on his tail or alongside Andy and Clacher's Imp could sometimes beat both the Minis.
The Mini on the right a bit further back seems to be the same colours as Andy's Mini (white with a turquoise centre stripe) could possibly be Davy Muter.

The order is actually Andy Barton, Alex Clacher,Jimmy Sime behind AC, don't know but sure it is not Davie Muter and Sedric Bell on the extreme right with the face mask.

Harry Ratcliffe reckoned the Cooper-Buick Mini V8 was the best thing he ever did. Not because it went well or was easy to drive, it wasn't! But because of the amount of publicity it brought BRT. He described driving it as like trying to throw a hammer shaft first, but did say that people were really scared to overtake it as they never knew what direction it would veer off in next...

When did you last seen a racing driver wearing a shirt and tie at a post race prize giving? (ignoring any 'fancy dress' type events like Goodwood).

Not wishing to be argumentative, however, there is no indication that photo of Gerry receiving his reward was taken immediately after a race, or even an indication that it was taken on a race day. It looks as though it was shot in a marquee, which wouldn't necessarily have been on the same day as a race.

"A very rare photo of Mick Hill racing a Mini. Taken at a damp Croft chicane during 1966 Mick is lying 3rd in this group ( No.33 ). The lead Anglia not yet identified but the 2nd place Mini is believed to be Stuart Whitehead and the Anglia at the rear is Dave Willars. Mick`s early racing wasn't a success with two engine failures in only 6 races in the Mini."

"Not only a prolific race winner but equally well known as the builder of some the most iconic modified saloons of that generation".

"Sad to hear of the passing of Neville Trickett last week 27th May, the architect of the original Minisprint in the mid 1960s who was still sprinting Minis well into his 80s and an inspiration to so many.
Another Mini legend gone but won’t be forgotten! RIP."

The lead Anglia could be Pete Finney or Dave Pearson. Both leading Anglia drivers in the north at that time. Unlikely to be one of the Perdal cars as the colour scheme looks wrong.
