Why not stick Alonso and Pedrosa as 3rd drivers at the Suzuka 1000 as well!

Team apr already arrived at Sepang to compete at 12-hour race. It seems the team's car has same spec to #30 car at Super GT regular race (with some adjustments such as additional front lights and white-coloured lights instead of yellow). Because the team going to race overseas (just like the Thailand case), it will race without the hybrid system.

That's very disappointing. Was really looking forward to seeing what the "fast" Prius would be able to do against the works teams.

The Prius got +20kg for the performance adjustment. When the car using the hybrid system, the car got +73kg.

Considering the race's lengthy duration and hot condition, probably it's the best choice to race the car. But I'm still not understand why they didn't use the #31 car whose its hybrid system (with capacitor energy storage) is allowed to be used to race overseas.

Tire issue, In my opinion.
Yokohama supplies control tire for Sepang 12h.
I think Yokohama invited #30 Prius for topical gimmick.

About hybrid system choice,
#30 Prius is a pure privateer team. They run with Hiroaki Nagai money.
So they use old hybrid system.

Yes.

According to Autosport 2016 SGT omnibus magazine,
Tetsuji Tamanaka (Team owner of MACH,#5) retires from SGT driving.
However, the team will remain with GT300 by alternative driver.

I bet Shogo Mitsuyama will be in Team Mach by next season of SUPER GT. Because Mitsuyama-san contributed sponsor and the maintenance garage as well.

By the way, Mitsuyama-san racing skills is better than Junichiro Yamashita racing skills because he achieved 2nd place of driver championship in 2002 season and 3rd place of driver championship in 2006 season.

@Japanese Samurai
Other than that, is Junichiro Yamashita (山下潤一郎 )is the pay driver or not?

He is the CEO of the Internet cafe group company.
So he is in the category of the gentleman driver.

Autosport web GT500 silly season rumor

*Dunlop and Yokohama might increase user team.
*Michelin might supply tire to a Honda team.

Speaking about the rumor , Lexus in GT500 won't be changed the tire manufacturer for Lexus Racing Team in GT500.

Maybe Honda will supply Yokohama tires and Nissan might supply Dunlop team at least one team.

Yes. Aside from Toyota Corolla Mie, he is also the CEO of Netz Novel Mie (Toyota Dealer) and also Ninne Co. Ltd (Porsche used car dealer & maintenance garage).

Before he entered Super GT, he competed at Porsche Carrera Cup Japan with his own company (Ninne).

Copy that. Initially, I thought all JAF-GT cars aren't equipped with ABS.

The magazine features Prius GT cockpit photo.
There is a switch/dial of ABS in the cockpit of Prius GT.
(But I could not find TCS switch/dial in it.)

2.1.2) Control function restrictions
1) Any automatic or electronic chassis control system or function, excluding anti-lock brake system
and traction control system which are submitted to and approved by the JAF, is forbidden, even if
the original vehicle has it. This includes the systems listed in the Appendix 1 of this Section.
A simple open-loop electrical switch activated by the driver acting on a system is not considered
to be electronically controlled.
2) It is permitted to use (add) a speed limiter in order to comply with the speed limit in the pit lane.
I don't know how complex the hybrid system on the Prius is but when the electronics are deciding how much of each power system to use like an LMP1 it becomes kind of impossible to disable traction control.
