Word from a few news sources from Australia over Christmas suggested Ryan Briscoe is about to sign for PKV. This goes against what Kalkovin, Vasser have been saying about not confirming drivers untill January.

At the end of this I do hope Dalziel ends up with a PKV seat.

A link regarding the above Briscoe rumours:
http://www.smh.com.au/news/Sport/Bri...445565727.html
...Ryan Briscoe is poised to sign with Champ Car team PKV Racing...

If true I'm quiet curious where CDM will end up. I almost wonder if his stock hasn't fallen after his lackluster 2005 season.

Milka's DP win was with Andy Wallace sharing the car with her. I wonder if Dennis Vitolo couldn't have pulled off a victory if he'd traded off his car with Montoya? From what I've seen the driver statagy seemed quiet transparent, Wallace drove when they needed to go fast. I know you could make the same criticism of any driver sharing a car with another, but as I say, to me it seemed a little more blatent.

Yeah the CDM situation is intruiging. As if he doesnt stay with PKV apart from Forsythe, I dont see who else could/would sign him within Champ Car.

Milka Duno does have some talent, but isn't top drawer and I'm sure everyone knows that. However if she ends up with a champcar seat, I can't say I would complain.

CDM, I've never been a fan of. I'd rather see DL in the PKV seat.

I quite like Dennis Vitolo , I thought he was a true battler , his story is an impressive one even if his results were'nt

anyway yes all the news papers over here in Australia are suggesting that Briscoe is almost a done deal , I'd like to see it because I think the kid has some talent and prefer to see him on road courses.

of course he got called up for Toyota F1 testing duties last week so I guess he is still held in some regard

dont know much at all about milka duno though , but if she is good enough lets see how she goes

I was hoping for Pantano. It is still too early to tell. I'm surprised we have not heard anything from Forsythe this far.

Me too, coyote: I watched Pantano race the pants off of many top OW drivers in Watkins Glen. He's got the goods.

Hey - if both Milka Duno and Katherine Legge get rides, wouldn't Champ Car be the first major series with two female competitors?

Not if you count the Indianapolis 500 a few years ago. IIRC, Sarah Fisher and another woman (whose name I can't recall) both qualified and competed in the race.

By the way, does anybody know how Dan Clarke (a British F3 race winner for those who don't know) did in his Conquest test?

@alwaysfirst

Here are the combined testing results. Pretty hard, as ever, to draw any conclusions since the boys and girl were on track on different days and had different amounts of testing time....

3 R. Briscoe - PKV Racing 51.000
4 R. Dalziel - PKV Racing 51.500
5 K. Legge - PKV Racing 51.500
6 C. Zwolsman - Mi-Jack Conquest Racing 51.800
7 A. Danielsson - Mi-Jack Conquest Racing 52.100
8 J. Heylen - Mi-Jack Conquest Racing 52.100
9 R. Lyons - Rocketsports Racing 52.200
10 K. Legge - Rocketsports Racing 53.200

Certainly, but you have to remember it's also Christmas week, and everyone from the people that make the news to the people that write the news are having a well earned break!

Once 2006 rolls around, announcements will be forthcoming, of that I am sure

Without your CC speed fix have you resorted to chemical means?

I think part of the solution to the lack of racing is coming up with some better topics of discussion! It's been feeling very stale around here lately. If anyone has any ideas, PLEASE start some new threads!
