TuteZaek should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Lots of things Part 1

First, lets start from the easy and simple things: There will be a lot of new cars, 11, for the TC in this race again, with some of them for some heavy hitters with big history in the series, also, probably the last time an "old gen" "debut" (not quite a debut, its an old car, but still) will gather so much atention

Ortelli's Camaro (Canning Motorsport) (next race will be Canapino's)

Mangoni's Camaro (Canning Motorsport)

Guri Martinez Mustang (Guri Martinez Competicion), nobody knows what will be this car doing after this race (Render)

De Carlo's Camaro (LRD Performance)

Cotignola's Torino 2024 (Sprint Racing)

and finally (for the ones with images) Canapino's Chevy (Canning Motorsport)

Those aren't the only ones tho, there are also the 2 Camrys from the Maquin Parts team for Gini and Agrelo, Gini will be testing his, interestingly, behind closed doors in a private test, they rented the La Plata track for themselves, because the team, in their own words, went to the absolute last detail on the car and don't want other users copying them.
There will be also the Camry of Agustin Martinez (i'd guess will look similar to his father Mustang, btw, after Buenos Aires, there will be no yellow Ford in the TC...) and Ardusso and Allaux will be debuting Camaros.
Finally, Ledesma is replacing his Camaro (the first one built in the series) for a new one
Also there is the return of Irribarne's Camaro after a race stop because of the team change.

For the next races there is the expected arrival of a small army of Challengers, with De La Iglesia, Castellano, Fritzler and Vazques. There is also Fontana's Camaro, Gianini's Mustang (which is delayed since forever, but since the new Ranger is done, there is work again), Chapur's Torino 2024, Dose wants to debut a Camaro this year, in the last race, and a possible Mustang for Spataro.

This is Gianini's mustang

And this is Fontana's Camaro (WIP, also, i think thats a Pickup chasis behind it, and an old Dodge)

Lots of things, part 2

The not so easy part:

The TC2000, CDA and ACTC telenovela continues, with Ciabattari and Roberto Valle (From the Honda Works team, who in theory were already working in the new SUV) talking as representatives of the TC2000 Team Owners asociation basically confirmed that they're going ACTC, while Levy said "Not all teams"

What's more interesting is that Ciabattari did turn on the fan on the Levys and the CDA, criticizing both their "bussines model" (Engine rentals and prices, the fact that they basically own some of the teams, like the Pro-Racing/Lincoln and can offer prices outside of rach for the normal teams) and "sport model" (Mainly weird decisions about some help some teams receive, the bad way they integrated the old "Series" cars onto the main category), calling all the bad decisions they made and the absence of answers they got from them, while also not mentioning once the SUVs or the new engines

They also confirmed some of the details of the eventual "new" TC2000, the engines are already bought, they're 6 cyl with turbo (also used for a more normal Push to Pass than the current Orecas), arround 550hp, even if Ciabattari made clear that they don't know how much power they will be using, made by Berta Motorsport, the engines will be the Team property instead of the series, and there is work already going in them with some on track test coming soon.

There is also the talk about the CDA trying to end all conflicts (not only for the TC2000, but also the TN and the licenses to drive there) and posible meetings with all the parts, including ACTC.

Yup, fun things for the family

Anyways... here is a photo of Colapinto driving a Cobra for a Gulf event in Buenos Aires

And an ad with Santero on the biggest Buenos Aires Highway

Thanks for the updates appreciate it

With TC2000 do you think it will be resolved or will it carry on getting messy

There are some meetings happening soon that should/could cool the CDA ACTC side of the conflict, at least in the licences part, for a bit, but the TC2000 has an internal problem.
Rumors say that the Levys want the SUV to happen, as they put a lot of money there, but nobody wants them, CDA and Ramonda (TGR team principal) wants TCR, but he is the only one doing a TCR, and nobody else want to buy into the TCR model and finally Valle, Ciabattari, Reggi, JM and the guys of the Octanos want to have more control, that's why they went to make their own engine and went for the ACTC after the Levys and CDA didn't hear them.

Only thing I wish is that in 2025 some form of TC2000 still happens, but I'd hate to have 2 TC2000 because nobody wanted to compromise

Sounds real messy…..

Yeah I hope the same and I hope the SUV Concept comes off those cars look good but in the end I hope TC2000 survives I have enjoyed watching this series for years over here in the UK, it’s what really got me into the Argentina motorsport scene cos there’s some great racing and series over there

As Tute says, my undertanding is that the new ACA president wants to make peace with the ACTC rather than go full split, whereas some TC2000 team owners indeed will split with Tango. So I would that the ACA will let the TC2000 split happen and say they couldn't stop it.

Trucco and the Challenger won at Buenos Aires! first victory for both!
Santero ended in second (and won the Regular Season), while Canapino, returning with the Chevy got 3rd.

The Challenger was really dominant all weekend, in a track that, in theory, was one of the worst matches for the car, got a nice qualy (being in the first outing hurt its chances, the track got better with the time) the race lap record,... and next race a small army of them joins the series.
Also, the 2024 Camry finally showed its performance in the hands of Agustin Martinez, even if an electrical gremlin on the series hurt its final race.
Sadly, the Torino 2024 closed a really bad regular season that started with a (chance) victory in the first race but diluted across the year, and Martinez and Landa missed the "Copa de Oro" with a lot of reliability issues with their Torinos along the year (and some bad luck in accidents)
On the other hand, this maybe was the last podium for an "old gen car" seeing that all the remaining podium hopefuls (and more specifically the Dodge users) are leaving their classics behind.

So how does the gold cup work then? I have a basic idea but struggle to translate it

Basically, the first 12 ranked drivers on the regular season advance to the cup.

The cup is a "mini tournament" between these 12 (and 3 more on the last race) that last the final 5 races of the championship and runs in parallel to the normal championship (that still continues after the regular season, and is the one that define the next year driver ranking/numbers)

The regular season winner (Santero, in this case) enters the mini-tournament with 15 points.

Aditionally, every regular season race win gives the cup contestants 8 extra points, this is interesting because it can mean that if the winner of the regular season doesn't win a race, and one of the other drivers wins two races, the last one will be ahead on the start of the cup, this is actually happening now in the "Silver Cup" (TC pista version of the cup, same rules) with Azar, who won 3 races and enters with 24 points against the regular season winner, Olmedo, with 23 points product of a single win.
A win (either during the regular season or during the last 5 races) is required to be champion.

Finally, on the last race, the 3 best "non cup" ranked drivers get a chance to win the championship provided that they get the required victory and win enough points during the cup races (the only time this happened was during the '22 season of the TC Pick Up, when Omar "Guri" Martinez won the championship being one of the "last minute 3")
Those "last minute 3" don't get the bonus points per regular season victory

The champion is defined by the winner of the mini tournament, and gets awarded 200 points for the general tournament (that runs in parallel) so that way ends up first in the ranking while the sub champion is defined by the amounts of points in such ranking.
If we took the points awarded by winning the cup, it can happen that the second place has more points than the eventual champion (it happened, for example, in 2021, with Lambiris ending ahead on points, both on the cup and on the general tournament, of Werner, but not having the required win to be crowned champion)

Whats actually more impressive, Gianini was given a 5 second penalty mid race for a scuffle at the start with Werner.

He did basically Qualy runs on each lap after a pace car, and finished first on track by 4.9 seconds. Should the race had an extra lap (or an extra sector) he would 've won the race.

Why is Gianini so good in Pickups? he never had such success in TC.

The Pick Up field is more unstable, and for Gianini's team it's the first priority.
Also, while he wasn't as dominant in TC (I mean, only Werner and Canapino, of the current crop, got such success in the main series) the latter years he was always kinda close, getting a 3rd place in the 2021 cup behind Werner and Lambiris.
Also, the Pickups racing mostly at La Plata, his team clearly nailed the setup for the circuit and his overly agressive style.

On another note, now that we're talking about Gianini, he will debut his TC Mustang at the last race of the year at La Plata, and, as with the Ranger, it will have official support from Ford, with rumors (kinda exagerated and pulled from who knows where, imho) pointing to this being a first step for a more "Works" Ford team for 2025.

The TC2000 has announced to visit Concepción del Uruguay on September 22, and host the Buenos Aires 200 km on October 6, together with the TCR South America and Stock Car Brasil. The latter now clashes with the Turismo Nacional...

Yeah, thats seems a good idea...

All in all, both Thiago and Leonel Pernia are "forced" to choose between the TN (where Leonel is currently 1st) and TC2000 (Leonel 1st and Thiago 2nd)

The "good" thing is that Leonel has a race ban in supence (it was supossed to be for this weekend, but he did appeal to race in the 200 pilots event) that could be taken for that race (Unless the appeal wins... and then he will have to chose)
