I should correct my post above - of course Frosty didn't retire after Whincup hit him but lost significant time in the pits for repairs.

so what you are saying is you both just prefer cars taking each other out to make a position. That doesnt sound like your into motorsport to me, sounds like you are into crashes

Great assumption, based on the facts at hand.
All we've said is that we preferred how it was back in the early 90's, when it was ok to have a go, and make a pass with your elbows out. Like I said a page or so back, if someone gets speared off the track or turned around, hand out a penalty. But don't penalise if there's a bit of paint (well vinyl these days) exchanged. |

the whole crash and bash into each other, sounds like Entertainment to me. but you need a bit of that, just not to let things go too far.

Abit of gentle rubbing whilst battling over a position is acceptable to a point as long as no one is disadvantaged, but any nose-to-tail contact forcing another car offline, or running into the side of a competitor and using him as your brakes, is quite frankly rubbish to watch, to an enthusiast like me anyway.... |

Seems to have a few more 'bleeps' in it than I recall the live broadcast showing too |

I just watched the event today and thought it was fantastic. I haven't seen that track before but that place is awesome. I'm also glad the drama doesn't make it over here... just racing.
A couple of thoughts: I wish there was an additional barrier in the runoff area or they made the drivers come to a full stop rather than to have to decide where to rejoin. Also, I don't like the time penalty being assessed after the race for the false start. This can lead to a driver affecting the race for a position he is not contesting. Assess the penalty during the race. |

agreed, whats stopping someone starting early and in clear air pulling a 10 sec gap, like what happened on the GC couple of years ago, and then any penalty is redundant
