They're searching for answers, I wish they'd just ditch this ridiculous technical parity and put a smaller air restrictor in the camaro then open it up if the mustang becomes too fast.

The category has become a joke.

The point is for technical parity and perfectly equal performance in every way, in any case. 2 x 32-valve engines would make that easier.
No question that the higher RPM would sound great - look at NASCAR - pushrods at 9,000rpm and the sound is awesome. Dollars might be a different story though.

No question that having the engines of the same architecture works better - 30 odd years of 5.0L pushrods showed that - they could have just as easily stuck with pushrod engines but crate motors to cut the costs compared to the previous hand-built engines.

Problem of course is that GM runs pushrods in their production cars and Ford runs DOHC - so they wanted to run something more like the road cars.

Follow a brand that takes advice from people with decades of expertise rather than discarding it and then whining about it as if it's not their fault.

Another detail I just picked up about the Ford throttle body change:

They are now running ITB instead of a single throttle body.

It seems that the tyre degradation issue has been resolved but the mustangs are just a bit down on power with the smaller throttle body.

I'm not sure how you could say the Mustang is down on power without reading lots of data. They looked fast enough today. ADP running down Feeney on the same age tyres. straight line speed looked very even from what I saw. The smaller throttle body dose not equal less power 100% It depends if the larger body was slightly larger than necessary right from the start?

OK no worries, just an observation from me, Feeney may have used up more tyre than ADP and as I said the tyre degradation issue can probably now be put to bed.

He doesn't need data. His username instantly gives you proof that his opinion is both authoritative and non biased.

Can we put Mr Van Gisbergen in a Mustang for a session and see how fast he can go in it?

The complaint from Ben Croke during the press conference was that the Mustang has a small operating window. That doesn't sound like a parity or Supercars issue.

And probably not Mr Mostert’s Mobil Mustang..

But.. nude the cars… or put a funky test day livery on them, sell models..

And give the best account of the Mustang, with Mr Edwards within earshot..

At Eastern Creek or similar..

Why not?

It would be in Mr van Gisbergens interest to go quicker in the Mustang than his own car…

No one, it's the nature of the architecture of a quad cam engine most likely.

So after aero, COG, engine map, another aero, and throttle body change...

https://www.v8sleuth.com.au/the-simp...jMuZeOFP_pjJMk

Now there's a straight line speed issue.

Also Ben Croke tells us that the Mustang has the "smallest operating window he has ever seen"

Maybe you should talk about the performance of the homolgating team in building and setting up the car, Mr Croke?

There was other whinging early on that the Gen3 chassis design tweaking was happening with the Chev and not so much the Mustang..

Wonder if the Fordies ran the previous version of Mustang skin if it would solve this mess?
