Well it seems WPS havent found the overdue bill for the Chrysler safety car. They do seem to have a record of lack of payment dont they, ie CC and Aussie racers. If I were the manager of any event which WPS sponser's I would be a little worried!!! The thunny thing is that WPS want your money to invest yet seem unabe to pay thier commitments???

At least they still have the "WPS Control Tower" at Qld Raceway !.
Pretty hard to remove the stickers from a building overnight. |

Hrmmm... all of the signage around QR has been removed, and I think you'll find that the tower might have already been (or soon will be) painted to match the tower at Lakeside

Funny that on the same day Enews reports this that Gold Coast Bulletin has a big write up on how Mr Gore is snapping up Marinas along the QLD coast with the assistance of Kelvin Kalkhoven (ex Champ Car ) .

I'd say that he has stopped paying the agreements as an easy way to get out of them, possibly, depending on sub clauses in the agreement.
I don't blame him for pulling the pin on the team, if you can't provide good equipment then why go to all that trouble. As for the rest of the sponsorship agreements, with the current economic situation it probably in the companies best interests to cut costs in some areas if they want to stay afloat. But mind you, he came, he spent, made a stack of cash out of it and has now gone on his merry way to find something else. And I'll give him credit for the fact that his whole presence in the sport probably generated him as much capital as he probably would have got if he float WPS on the ASX. |
