Well they never learned. They completely did not account for intangibles when they made the choice to run 1 car.

I just joined in the DailyMotion stream... completely forgot that the race started earlier than qualifying...

Anyway, very interesting Toyota is done this early. Also, what's up with the GTE-Am cars essentially leading the GTE-Pro cars?

I'm sure someone at Toyota is aware of the possibility that a car can crash out of a race

They didn't make this decision in the expectation of doing well this year, they were very clear they were putting emphasis on 2014 - thinking they'll reap the rewards next year.

I know it's frustrating for us fans but Toyota aren't deliberately trying to sabotage their programme, they're just playing the long game.

Before the race Anthony warned his two teammates about that very Lotus! Passing around the outside of Turn 3 is quite normal for an LMP1. I just replayed the footage, and the Lotus is bouncing about on the inside kerb, and then it snaps right on him into the path of the Toyota!

Its getting hot out there, literally! How about Rebellion run two cars? Oh, where's Strakka? What about Peugeot? Give the Toyota decision a rest. Audi outspends the entire P1 field combined. How is that healthy?
