If YD AMR withdraws their Vantage from the reserve list, does that free up Enge to drive another car? If not, then that is one stupid rule... Actually, I think it is already one stupid rule, but that would be the icing on the cake.

As stupid as ugly vertical fins? The new Aston would look beautiful without one.

Ive seen a pic of what AMR released , take a look at the link below ..... and that fin is an abortion of a device , but thats not saying that the end result will look like that either .

Why oh why are they going to an open car? I would have stuck with a coupe. I still think the R18 has the best iteration of the 'fin'. Incorporating it into the rear wing mount was pretty slick. Peugeot's looks like an afterthought, and the picture of this Aston looks pretty 'bland'. I'm sure the real deal will have a bit more to it than this!

Plus they hoped for a lower minimum weight (under 900 kg) compared to diesels and hybrids. This has not (yet) happened, but it might in the future as a form of performance balancing to compensate for a lower torque.

Have GH-C or Dave Richards given a reason publicly for their decision to build a barchetta at any point? I've got an inkling they did and thinking 'fair enough', but perhaps I imagined it.

So no pics have broken cover then? Henry Hope Frost was tweeting today that he had been at the unveiling of the car in Gaydon. Can't have been much of an unveiling.

That is because nothing is allowed to be released until next wednesday, but the launch did take place today. You will just have to wait another week.

The S9 is nice, but the R9 is better looking. They should leave it in GT1 and take the Vantage in GT3.

DBR9 is GT1. DBRS9 is GT3. VERY different animals...
I like both, in their own way. |

What is the rationale behind a nearly one week press embargo on the launch itself? Press embargoes make sense in some cases, but lots of information about the car could easily have been disseminated in advance to allow articles to be written under embargo. Then the launch itself would have been public, rather than this teasing business.

It's quite simple - Aston have multiple road car launches at the Geneva Motor Show - his is simply a mechanism to ensure that their stories are out there in the manner that they want them - Patience all!

Yet it's hard to believe no pics leaked out at all! Did they really show the car at the launch?! Aren't you even allowed to comment on it?
That sounds strange... |
