I really should have remembered that the Moss/Collins DB3S was also a class winner in 56. The winning Flockhart/Sanderson car was in the 3001-5000 class and the Aston in the 2001-3000 category. By the end of the 50s there was no 5-litre class and the Aston DBR1 that won in 59 was a 3-litre car. |

As a semi-amusing postscript to my ACO renewal, my new card arrived yesterday - and very colourful it is too.
Guess what arrived today? My renewal forms - 9 days before I leave for France...... |

Today I also found my renewal form in the snailmail, my membership expires end of june. I renew it every year in the ACO espace on the track, it has grown to a tradition. This year thinking about the racing elite membership, as it gets me a one year subscribtion on the spirit of Le mans magazine, and gets mecthe collectorbox including the yearbook and dvd. All together not that much more expensive as to buying them all seperate. I might even buy a pitwalkpass next year with the 30 % discount.

Not so sure about that, when I used to buy my EG (rather than have 'my man' get them for me ), I always bought last minute on eBay, usually getting them very cheap.

Looks like the SAFER barrier in the Porsche Curves has been pushed right up to the edge of the track. https://twitter.com/MGriffinRacing/s...45323463716864

I have downloaded the scruteneering schedule, what I am confused about is, there is some kind of check on tuesday for LMP1 Toyota and Porsche, not Kolles. Anyone know what and where?
Also, can't find a proper time scedule for the whole week, including all activities beside the track, anyone? |

It's some kind of check for the hybrids only, presumably some kind of additional safety check that the other cars don't need?
In any case, aren't I correct that the 'scrutineering' in the town is very basic and all the cars are properly scrutineered at the circuit? Or did I imagine that? |

To get myself in the mood, I have been binge watching the new 'television' series "Le Mans: Racing is Everything" on Amazon Prime.
It covers the 2015 LM24 and follows the fortunes of a number of teams and drivers, which makes a change from most LM docs which focus on a single team's efforts. It's marked as a Prime Exclusive so I assume that's going to be the only place to see it (legally). |

I was wondering if anybody knows anyone whom has managed to walk or run the whole circuit on friday. Last year I managed to run a full lap, this year walked the circuit and got stopped (fence and guard) at the Porsche curves. I don't know why ACO is making it so hard?

Anyone noticed after the finish ACO tried to close the startinggrid for the fans? WHY do they do that?

No, at first they put red and white ribbon across the track at the beginning of pitstraid and tried to stop erverybody. It did not last long. Also from the other end everybody at first had to through pitlane. Very odd.

I wasn't sure but it felt like they were just trying to ensure the cars were barriered off correctly in the parc ferme area and then they let people through.

I posted this also in the FAQ thread:
For those amongst you who use the Le Mans Tourist Office as a source of tickets, Nadine will retire 1st of january. She already has shifted the ticket duty to her colleague Catherine (no family! Note the single 't' instead of double):<br /> catherine.boutier@lemans-tourisme.fr |
