It's kind of a sticker bomb, there are a lot of different names on the cars: Bristol Street Motors, Hansford Sensors, Verified Entry, Mairon Fright, Trade Price Cars, Third Millenium, etc etc. The difference is they've used the same colours and similar fonts to form a more cohesive design, rather than the usual haphazard mix of colours/fonts/logos.

Nice livery.
Probably David vs Goliath but aren't Trade Price Cars and Bristol Street Motors in the same business? And what is Verified Entry? |

It is a biometric entry "solution" for Covid.

Or maybe Excelr8 were sick of finding bite marks on Tingrams car - allegedly make by a disappointed and confused Harvey on discovering a lack of meat and tatey in the wrapper - so sent Ginsters packing... |

I can't believe it's been 3 years since they first got on board with Tingram, really was a great move

Perhaps, after evaluating the return on their investment, and the overall financial situation of the company, the owners of the Ginsters brand have decided that they can have more effective results advertising elsewhere.

It was a 3 year deal which has now ended.

No reason why they couldn't have extended though if they were seeing a good return on the investment.
Don't think it's any reflection on BTCC though rather the way the world has been and is continuing to be. |

It's standard product marketing, and something we have seen from many brands in the past. If you are a non-automotive brand, then there is a peak of exposure from a motorsport series, after which any further increase is marginal. We've seen the same Shredded Wheat, eBay, Airwaves, HP and KX. |

The simple facts are the numbers don't add up today in the 2022 post-Covid world compared to when the 3 year deal was done in 2019. Mr Ginsters may no longer be in the position to afford a further deal even if all parties wanted to.
This would be reinforced by Chilton (wealthy) and Ingram) not wealthy) running the same livery but Lloyd and Hyundai #4) appearing to be running separate liveries. Chilton's backing is likely to be also funding a large chunk of Exceler8's overall operation just as he's done with every team he's driven for. Last edited by medius; 3 Mar 2022 at 11:34. |

Many deals are being signed since C-19, and the grid has increased in size. The Ginsters marketing strategy aligns more with normal practice, as opposed to anything in reaction to post-Covid times. |

How many times has a non-automotive brand lasted for more than 3 years as a title sponsor at any point in the BTCC's history?
3 years is a very good innings and doubt they ever had any intention of extending beyond that. Chilton is funding his own drive and probably 50% of Ingram's and 50% of Lloyd's. As the the "fourth" driver, we will learn more when we see who it is and what backing is on theirs and Lloyd's cars. |

What you saw previously was a sponsor (Ginsters) that only funded a single car entry, and after this didn't work with Speedworks' direction, Ingram had to move to a team that could run split liveries. Now they have a sponsor that funds a two-car entry, with each driver's personal sponsors making up a smaller percentage of the budget. |

(Interestingly, we could have seen Cammish in a Motobase Focus earlier if Airwaves had continued. As the 2013 Formula Ford champion, he impressed in a trial with Airwaves / Motorbase and was reportedly in the frame for a 2015 drive before Airwaves departed and he raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup instead). |

Agreed - Chilton may pay more for his seat than Ingram but not to the tune of 50%. Arguably - Chilton is a bigger name than Ingram due to his WTCC history, so it may be easier to get sponsors in based on his name.

It's not about being stupid, it's just the way moder day BTCC works. It's not necessarily all money straight out of the Chilton's own pocket, but his position brings on board far more backing from others than most (arguably) better drivers do, and hence why Chilton is always welcomed with open arms by any team. |

Chilton's solid, but no megastar. Sometimes he has struggled to get results. 888 always had the attraction of being a big team, so Gio could have gone there anyway
Hopefully Chilton can show something this, it would be easier to find something else. He just needs a car and team he do justice in. Might take a bit of time with the Hyundai, but things should get better |
