Surely they can't have removed electricity from all the sites - in this day and age?

They've made plenty of mistakes in the past though. They seem to put these things together in a surprising rush....

Well it has only been 5 months since the last race so 19 weeks of sorting out how much extra they could charge for things everything else is done in a hurry. wonder were the new camping sites are, not much room left within the track.

Received an e mail from Piston Heads this morning. They say they're going with First Tickets and staying at Blue Nord.

I saw their 'ad' on FB today. I guess they're confident that they will get Bleu Nord.....
Edit - very confident. https://www.pistonheads.com/news/rn-...ans-2024/47812 |

Well, it's through 1st Tickets, so I doubt that they are contractually bound (not specifically anyway) to PH. I daresay 1st Tickets have a contract with the ACO, but I know for sure that they still have no definitive idea of what they're going to be given by the ACO.

PH camping at LM is a trading name of 1st Tickets.
When I went with them a few years back all the paperwork is with 1st Tickets. 1st Tickets are very good. Some other operators have acquired other operators and then dropped those brands/names and let customers down. Lots of pressures on private camp sites from ACO price rises, VAT changes in France and regulations concerning catering and food previously from UK. |

Absolutely Peter, I'm a great supporter of Brian and his gang at 1st Tickets. I think after last year's problems they were one of the few agencies that came out of it with their reputation untarnished.

there is also the problem of most camping sockets are designed for camping demands rather than electric car charging, It costs a lot to put a proper car charging point in at home as they draw very large amounts of power, suspect even a few cars charging would over;oad the old charging units.

You can charge an EV or Hybrid on a standard 240v cable but you need an inverter and it will give you about ten miles per 24hrs. It doesn't draw any more power than an electric heater. But yes, I suspect the cost of providing electricity for all is quite high. Particulalry if it has to be generated on site, rather than coming off the grid.

I reckon it’s either a standard ACO cock up or they’ve had complaints from people to took ‘electricity’ to mean a connection on their pitch not on a pole 30 yards away that’s triple overloaded when they arrive so have decided to under promise

We are all going to LM24 (subject to ticket availability) so perhaps the poster isn't aimed at us ... However, I am a little concerned that they do not seem to be expecting any other teams in the top class ... |
