How many are open for BTCC? I'm sure it was just three last year? How many will be open for the National circuit I wonder?

Just spotted the advert to run in the Audi that Sargant raced at Silverstone.
£14,500 +Vat per round? No wonder the grid has shrunk this season if that's a weekend arrive and drive price. |

Over 7 rounds/weekends, its around £100k - that's been the ballpark figure for a seasons costs for a few years now. A good seat in VW cup 7-8 years ago would have set you back £35-50k for a season and TCR cars require a lot more maintenance on them. I would guess the Mini JCWs are around £80-100k a season with a front running team.

Was interesting to see Stewart Lines on Facebook last night saying that TCR UK is going to BARC next year. There were a few nice things about BTCC said, but I imagine at this point that they couldn't give two figs about TCR. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out, especially if there was a miracle and they had a bigger grid than BTCC!

How good was race 1 at Thruxton today? Phenomenal stuff, never saw anything like it.
Why does the TCR rule set produce such poor racing? Genuinely across ALL series, the races are very processional with some large gaps. |

Don’t know why Shepard still bothers…

16 cars on the entry list for this weekend. No Will Beech on the list, so I guess Rick Kerry takes the Gen 1 title. The two Laidlaw cars are switched to VZ Cupras. Not a cheap car if built new, possibly and upgrade model?
I'm predicting Boardley takes the title in the first race on Sunday. |

Shame that Gen 1 is now decided before the racing. With low interest all season, I question whether they should continue the class for 2025. |

Carl Boardley becomes a 2-time champion.
Didn’t watch a whole lot of this year, but from the final few rounds it still seems like reliability issues are woeful (all 6 of the last 6 races for Sheperd whose car must be cursed) and grids are fluctuating. Hopefully numbers climb back up for next year and the new Cupras, Lynk&Co and Hondas are back. |

Unfortunately, these reliability issues will always exist when running expensive cars on tight budgets.
A lot of the teams will only be replacing parts when they break rather than replacing bits after each round/race, and high powered FWD cars on slicks will always put a lot of stress through shafts etc. Would like to know what happened to Bensley, very odd looking crash. |

I was expecting Boardley to completely dominate so nice that the championship was somewhat closer in the end, coming down to the last race. |

I'm not saying it's easy, or that I have the skills, but as a consumer of club racing streams I've got to say they've rested on their laurels, or gone in a huff with TCR. After all, where did the qualifying go? |

That's the big problem with multi-class racing. The film crews don't get that there can be a fight for 20th overall but 1st to 5th in class which means far more than the two guys running around at the front 3 seconds apart. |
