Oops, that slipped into the wrong category.

Team Ireland will exist. Jonathan Fildes will be driving for them at Mondello Park next year as a reward for winning the Dunlop Supecars. He hopes to extend the deal beyond one race.

Very 'arguably'! Schneider? Rydell? Menu? Winkelhock? Ravaglia? Soper?

Remembering predicted entries last off-season I guess 1/4 of Alfa Fans list could posibly do at least one race and atmost 1/5 whole season.

With all due respect Alfa Fan, I would advise anyone looking at your lists to take them with a pinch of salt.

To everybody: We see these lists every year without fail. I think it would be appropriate if when quoting an entry is confirmed a source of the confirmation is provided too, just to avoid any confusion on what is going on.

Absolutely. We seem to have this problem every year. Nice to see some enthusiasm but lets try to be realistic.

Every year there are stories that teams have 'confirmed' and every year we're left waiting. You'll see the phase "if plans come to fruition" used regularly in MN reports, and for good reason.

This time last year for example you would have told us that GA Motorsport were confirmed and 6 months ago you would have said Gary Ayles new team was confirmed, yet the 2005 season is long since over and still no sign of either.

I seem to remember you recently re-opening a 3 year old thread just to prove the point that what someone else had said would absolutely positively happen eventually never actually happened. How many of these "confirmed list" posts are we going to be able to do the same with?

We will indeed. I can guarantee that at least four of your 'confirmed' list are no longer going to happen. But I am not going to expand on that as it is not 100% fact but just whispers that I have heard from those involved... much like the rumours Autosport will print. Incidently Autosport and MN will pick up a lot of their rumours on this forum... so just because a rumour which started here gets to print in Autosport doesnt mean it's accurate. The only proof of accuracy is what turns up on the grid at round one.

I would ignore Alfa Fan's list.

I'm still in the know on a few teams, cars plans etc with livery proposals and just in the confrimed part, I know of 1, possibly 2 not happening with another one as a different car and thats just the ones I know about!!!!

....and even that will change prior to 2006.

So the only 3 drivers which are officially confirmed are:

VX Racing (Triple Eight) - Vauxhall Astra (BTC-Touring) - Tom Chilton
Team Eurotech - Honda Integra (BTC-Touring) - Mike Jordan

I'd call that a 100% competitive line-up! 3 top drivers, 2 race-winning cars and 1 championship-winning car - fantastic!

Mr Gow has confirmed that the BTCC will be on ITV1 again for 2006 so that should act as a spur for SEAT and others to commit.

All he has got to do now is sort out the equivelence formula and that'll get Seat back on the hook (those were the two things they wanted to know)

SEAT now officially confirmed
Quote:
Jason Plato will spearhead SEAT Sport UK’s assault on the 2006 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship when he races the all-new Leon in the UK for the first time.
...
SEAT Sport UK is aiming to fight for the BTCC Manufacturers’ title in 2006 and while no decision has yet been made on who will drive the second car, it’s likely that Plato’s team-mate will also be an experienced racer who has the potential to win at every race circuit
The "experienced racer who has the potential to win" rules out Pickford and Hines.
