Ups! Yes, you're right stef74.
Your chassis numbers imply that Eggenberger build new chassis for the 24 hour races at Nürburgring and Spa-Francorchamps, then? Jesper |

I think this car stayed in Asia after this race. A car bearing a near-identical livery with the same dark-blue-interior-with-grey-rollcage appears at Macau in 1989 (#6, driven by Gio Fan). The review video shows it exiting the race by crashing nose-first into the barriers. The only other record I can find of what I believe to be the '88 Edwards car is - oddly enough - at Bathurst in 1992! Recently unearthed copies of Auto Action suggest that the #36 car (Ent: Rod Jones, Drv: Ken Mathews / Rod Jones / Mike Newton) was an ex-Rouse brought across from Asia. The livery of that car bore the same dark blue/white base scheme of the Kaliber cars. Coincidence? I think not. |

Would that car have been repaired/reshelled or did he get a new car?
I think it was Thruxton. |

Just had a look through more of the albums on the site William linked to- one or two more Sierras, including an unfamiliar one:
http://photo.163.com/photos/tcd1388/2378870/28409170/ http://homepage.mac.com/frank_de_jon...7%20Macau.html suggests at least two Sierras at Macau in 87- for Albert Poon (car no 11) and Chan Chi Wah- is this the latter? It appears to be a Cosworth rather than an RS500 though. 1989 saw a 1-2 for Rouse with a pair of cars for himself and Tim Harvey. http://homepage.mac.com/frank_de_jon...9%20Macau.html Harvey: in Watson's colours http://photo.163.com/photos/tcd1388/2378881/60834368/ http://photo.163.com/photos/tcd1388/...4368/#28409834 (with the Trampio car in the background) Rouse, in Hutchison Telecom colours http://photo.163.com/photos/tcd1388/...4368/#28410092 |

I think you could mean the Gravett car when he clipped a Toyota.
The Edwards car was definatly front end damage, in the review video something was mentioned about him harpooning someone. Iam sure KA will be along to correct me if iam wrong. |

You could be right steve, i just thought it was another RS500 he hit.
In the footage shown the rear was covered up so was hard to tell if it was damaged. |

I have saved the video of this race here:
http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/g...onBTCC1989.flv It's the whole race coverage so quite long, but shows the Gravett / Dowsett incident (and many others) clearly. |

Spotted....
Not directly on topic, but, on my way home from Portsmouth on Wednesday evening, I passed a Labatts BTCC RS500 on the back of a trailer (it was, not me ).
Not sure if it was the real deal as it was heading the other way on the other side of the A3 and the closing speed was around 140 MPH, but it looked the business. Ta Steve |

There's a Marlboro-liveried car with 'Wolf Racing' stickers in the Lany Sportscar Museum near Prague.
They've got a number of touring cars, including Group A BMW 635CSi, TWR XJS, Corolla GT, and a Supertouring Mondeo. Apart from the Jag, all of the others seem to be associated with Antonin Charouz. Any know any history on this Sierra? website just says it's prepared to Group A for racing and hilclimbs.... http://www.auto-muzeum.cz/?page=en,ford-sierra-cosworth |

Could that be a ex-rally car. Didnt Carlos Sainz drive a Marlboro-liveried rally Sierra The wheels look like one's used on sierra rally cars.

I've had a bit of a search on Google, and Antonin Charouz appears to have been using a Wolf Cosworth in the European Hillclimb Championship around 1991/2 which seems to fit with what's on the museum website- Charouz certainly had Marlboro sponsorship on his ETCC Corolla a few years before- there's one of those in the same collection |

I didn't know there was a Marlboro backed car hillclimbing!!
Another Marlboro liveried car was the one in Holland that was raced by Bolderhey and Hin in 1988 which I think I mentioned earlier in the thread. No idea who prepared that car though? OT, that XJS in the museum is an original '82 car but painted up in late colours? |

I think I've got pictures of the car somewhere, but they'll take some finding (as they're probably covered in 21 years worth of dust!) Last edited by VIVA GT; 2 Jun 2008 at 11:57. |

Bolderhey did the 1987 TT in a Cosworth shared with Allard Kalff- presumably the same car?
