In the end all depends on Formula E, and of course if DTM can avoid these FE dates...

Why won’t DTM just cancel this race? They’ve not run a session all day because of fog & it’s not looked any clearer in the 2 & a half hours since the race was meant to start.

Cancelling is the least desirable outcome, two months of waiting only to have no race action on Saturday would be a bummer.... but yeah, looks extremely unlikely the race will go ahead.
Quite sorry for young Theo Oeverhaus - he was to race in the DTM as a 'wildcard' and looks like he will have to do with just one race on Sunday (hopefully tomorrow the weather is better btw!). |

Well, and the race happened! Quite an action-packed one actually, a huge drama between Bortolotti and Fraga. Feel for the latter, he just can't put it together this year even though the pacewise they have all it takes to fight for the championship. Quite unnecessary on Bortolotti given he was very well placed in terms of points but on the other hand was very close behind Fraga and for sure wanted a win. With these conditions such a mistake was tough to avoid.
But it was nice to see the van der Linde brothers 1-2 and the way they support each other. But to win the championship, Schubert Motorsport and Sheldon have to find a bit more pace in the BMW. Was also nice to see Götz up there and genuinely on pace. Shame about Preining - he could've ended up on podium without this retirement. |

Nice that Köhler was given such a chance. If I understand correctly he's quite a talented guy, just struggling financially to have a proper go at a serious motorsport career. Let's be honest, such an outing in DTM probably won't provide for any miracle but it's always a chance isn't it.

Yes, of course good performance first time in the car and with these conditions. They should keep him for Hockenheim. Now hes more experienced. Was quite better then Glock and Oeverhaus in last guest start (even if that is not easy to judge, due to many reasons). |

Yeah, actually I'm impressed with Köhler. Straightaway he qualified better than Muth throughout the season, kept his head cool during battles with more experienced rivals and all in all drove two very solid races. Given that Walkenhorst is struggling immensely, his performance was really good - not far behind Wittmann and certainly not worse than Muth in previous rounds. He deserves a chance at Hockenheim.
Btw, I found the second race very very good. Not only interesting and thrilling but really neat and clean in terms of driving standards. That's what I'd like to see in the DTM in every race. |

Yeah for sure the second race was interesting, different tyre strategies, changing weather. Thomas Preining was really flying as the track was drying.

SSR parted ways with Vanthoor before the season finale at Hockenheimring and Christian Engelhart will replace him.
It's quite baffling how Vanthoor was absolutely the worst of three Porsche drivers this year even though on paper looked definitely the best. I mean, it's been certain for quite some time he won't return to DTM in 2023 because of his LMDh program but it's still surprising he was let go for the final round of the season. |

I’ve never seen driving like this from professional drivers. Horrendous accident. Just awful.

Not sure what happened with Olsen. That was separate from Preining vs Schumacher.
What is certain is that the "Indy" restart simply doesn't work, this should be cancelled. Too many accidents because of that. |

All drivers ok which is wonderful news. Didn’t realise it at first but Ineichen actually got hit in the driver door by Zug before hitting the wall
That interview with Phillip Eng was quite telling. The guy was spooked, not surprised. |

Yeah, it all looks so scary that I'm relieved everyone is okay. Was pretty painful looking at Tommy Preining, you could see it was a huge impact.
Quite a shame, great title fight overshadowed by this crap. Some serious rethink is needed for 2023, otherwise I can't see any future in this. |

Tomorrow will be quite a tough duel between Sheldon and Auer - would be amazing if they could fight for the win as well as the title.
Hope tomorrow will be a less problematic race. |

Massive congrats to Sheldon, great season by him.
Enjoyed the Wittmann - Rast battle as well but I'm happy Marco finished the season on high - hopefully that's the shape of things to come next year. At the same time a bit gutted for Rast, honestly I wanted to see him win but I'm as happy with Sheldon getting it. With podium Wittmann-Rast-van der Linde, I wonder will they all be racing BMWs next year? |

Probably a while away. The DTM Calendar got messed up by F1 Spa clashing with the Spa 24. So the Spa 24 got moved, which clashed with DTM Norisring. DTM doesn't want a clash with Spa 24 as they share a lot of drivers, teams and sometimes cars.
