Now you do have a point there. It's so obvious that many of the volunteers at the track would just think it's one of the venders and not even check for tickets.

This is why I'm wanting to buy an old ambulance and convert the back to a travel camper. No one would look twice

I had a friend that I went to Seabring with. He bought an old 1940's fire compressor truck and converted it into a sleep-in van. The thing was colored florescent yellow. We always camped in the infield near the hairpin turn. Man was that place crazy back then. Kind of miss it now. Things have gotten much more "domesticated".

Ice blocks going in the chest freezer tomorrow, maybe Sunday morning, final email of the day sent (homeowners should NOT be allowed to be GC without a test first) so may go out to the shed to take stuff down and see what's busted or missing. tomorrow and Sunday to get things sorted and contemplate how it all fits, and fix a canopy or two.

Just replaced the steer tires on the motorhome. Was checking tire pressures and found one with some minor sidewall cracks. Not a good thing for a motorhome.
Picked up a few lobster tails to broil and 2 lbs. of snow crab legs to boil. I have my usual 1/4 bushel of green peanuts to boil. Will be firing up the fridge tomorrow to store all of the goodies. Found a stash place for the BOOZE. They're going to have to tear the place apart to find the stash. Not really expecting much though. Who gets all excited over an old couple with their motorhome at the races. We always clean up after ourselves. |

I’m not going to stash any booze. The rules say you can’t bring any in and I will follow those rules. It would be irresponsible to do otherwise.

He very much would. Just mentioned and now he is reading the 2021 program.
I’ve already had to print off maps and entry lists for him. |

You know it's getting close when you fire up the fridge in the RV and get ready for the big shopping day to fill it.

Looks to be settling in to 50% and cause Petit that means 200% at the track. And joeb will freeze at 45 overnight
Gear all down, grill cleaned, packing list considered and give wing it instead. Ice blocks don't get freezer space until tomorrow morning cause pastry in the way but bakeoff tomorrow morning makes space in my own freezer. Sausage and meats ordered from the market neighbor and 2 cigars smoked before noon so in Petit pacing already Gonna try to actually remember the cables and power for the projector finally so Braves games or a fella rebuilding cars can be on the evening schedule |

As long as it's not raining when I'm trying to set up my tent I'll be content. I have enough tarps and awnings that I'll stay mostly dry through pretty much anything.
The good thing about growing up in NE Florida is I've camped through multiple tropical systems |

Yeah, rather have the mud and memory of the insanity than pavement though.
But maybe that's me, live on pavement most of the day and dusty or gloopy mess the rest of it. Plus then we can draft in our Louisianan to build levees |

And here I'm just worried about pulling my car up to my tent site and my tires just spinning on the clay if it's wet.

I try to aim her in a way I can go forward or reverse and let her roll when I arrive. So far haven't had to in a good rain yet
I love watching the guys in the dry think the Tim Taylor method will get their 5er or big TT up the hill to camp behind Bob. Usually hear plenty of cursing and spinning tires before they park it or abandon to another area and get ****ed they can't camp along the road Similar to the same trailers who show up Friday and expect the area will be wide open and level. Watch them lap 5 or 6 times and end up camping in the no camping parking at the comfort station Last edited by broadrun96; 8 Oct 2023 at 01:57. |
