Penske don't have any great knowledge of COTA.

Same for Ganassi. What they do have is a car that has been there or there abouts for a lot of the races this year. They did have relatively good knowledge after the test too. And their car is stonking in the last sector - it suits it there. And, of course, the rules means everything is close.

How is the pace after a couple of hours compared to the LMP1 era that raced here. In 2024 they are 3 laps down after 2 hours compared to the year with the biggest difference (2017).

This chart shows how many laps ahead (or behind) the 2017 pace. The most recent year raced and the record year is shown.

#7 lost about 4s in the pit sequence to #83, but quicker now they are both out and bringing the tyres up to temperature.

and then there's BMW's fuel mileage... This seems to have the boys in the booth slightly baffled as to how the #20 can make a tankful last sooooooooooooooooooooo long.

I briefly had a 5 series. Could get 60mpg from it on a normal commute. Wasn't keen otherwise, but that amused me.
