Sure, nothing is carved in the stone these days but peugeot intention to return in 2022 is basically confirmend. It's not they were going to invest tons of money if they didn't even know the exact year. I'm always concerned about ligier role in the equation since they were hired as technical partner when onroak is the first that actually needs technical partners to operate...
Yeah to be clear, I'd seen them say they were aiming to debut in '22 - but they haven't committed as to when. So they could opt to debut after Le Mans to run the latter season races with less pressure and more testing under their belt. I don't think for the moment they have confirmed they will do the full season.

Well, I don't think there is really something to read between the lines in peugeot claims... I think they are going to do a 2022WEC season (it's not they could run anywhere else with a lmh before 2023).
Then, everything can happen in the meantime to delay the planned schedule, toyota too was going to debut at 2012 spa 6H and then postponed ts030 debut at le mans. The same can be said for ferrari in 2023.

You said that in March but it should be still the case. I've seen it mentioned multiple times that the debut is dependant on how smoothly the development goes. Some of those mentions might be months old now though.

Hopefully in July during the reveal they confirm full season.

Peugeot will present its Hypercar in early July

Peugeot's return to endurance racing, announced at the end of 2019, will materialize a little more next month with an event that will inevitably make history. It is on Tuesday, July 6 in the early afternoon that the French manufacturer will lift the veil on its future Hypercar, whose entry into competition is planned during the year 2022.

After confirming the choice of LMH regulations to realize its ambition to return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans and to enter the WEC, the Lion continues to take one step at a time to guide the French brand towards its entry into the racetrack, which has not raced in endurance racing for ten years now.

Last December, Peugeot first announced its technological choices for the engine of its new machine: a hybrid powertrain combining a 2.6-liter twin-turbo V6 developing 680 horsepower and a 200 kW electric motor on the front axle (272 hp). In practice, the regulations will only allow a total of 500 kW, or 680 hp.

Another important step was taken in February when the drivers who will make up the Peugeot Sport program in WEC were presented. Paul Di Resta, Loïc Duval, Mikkel Jensen, Kevin Magnussen, Gustavo Menezes and Jean-Éric Vergne will be the regulars, with James Rossiter as reserve driver.

If Peugeot respects the roadmap as publicly announced in recent months, the Hypercar should take its first laps at the end of the year and begin its full-scale test and development program. To date, the Lion has not confirmed its participation in the 2022 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, merely indicating that its entry into competition would take place during the course of next year, before the date is refined according to its level of preparation.

They've hyped this too much. When it turns out to just be a 508 with a massive wing on it people are going to be disappointed.

Curious comment about the cockpit. Does it mean, like all modern Peugeots, the LMH will have a tiny steering wheel sitting by your knees while all the instruments are completely above it?

considering that according to their technical renders, battery is a big block placed longitudinally between cockpit and thermal engine, and that battery usually require a lot of hardware around with coolers, electronic hardware etc... I won't be surprised if peugeot hypercar will have a huge engine hood making it look the car like a station wagon

Two dorsal fins!

Actually, if that render is any indication, the fin is either very low or missing.

Shooting break LMH?! Yes please!

But it'll probably be just a 308 SW with a big wing.

That render is from this set they (Pug) released in 2020. It was assumed they are just artistic illustrations, not least because when the brightness/gamma of the images is adjusted it turns out that that half of the car isn't even there.
