I've recently come into some microsoft points and was thinking of getting some race pro DLC, but I've heard you can't use it much on single player, i.e. not in championship mode. I was going to get the 2008 WTCC one, but there doesn't seem much point if I can't use it in championship mode. I don't have gold at the moment (mainly because I could do without the distraction), so I'm only going to be using it in single player.

Don't you need Gold to be able to buy DLC?

You should be able to use them in championship mode. Not career mode though, which is what this person probably meant.

It must just be me. I find a lot of games boring nowadays, but Race Pro is the absolute pinnacle in that regard. It is also a very lazily made game, particularly on single player. There are some people who paid full price for this, poor *******s.

The only problems I have with Race Pro are the low framerate and the very bad lighting on the car models. Thats IT.

IMO, as far as racing atmosphere and challenge etc its a mile better than the good looking but bland forza 3 , its a real racing game..intense on hard difficulty ...

Its all about the momentum, and not making mistakes in Race Pro.
Forza is just way to easy to drive on the limit. |

No it's not just you mate, but I think you're not getting the most out of the game until you play online and plug your comms in. Single player is just a necessary and boring evil to ulock the cars to race them online (but that's how I see all racing games these days), then when you're online, in a lobby of 10 friends having fun and racing close.....nothing on a console can beat it for racing thrills. But first you need to use comms, and find a lobby with up to 10 people playing, easy for me as UKOG is running a series, so any night I can get into a lobby of at least 8, but if you're not in a racing clan I can see it'd get a bit frustrating trying to get a race. |

I get into a race of around 6-12 people every night I go on. And thats with the original '07 WTCC that comes with the game.

I had a chance to try out the Historic cars with Spa and Mid-Ohio yesterday, I love them all
I'll give you an add mate, I can't stand Forza at the moment and have been on Race Pro all weekend. |

When I go on Forza, I always end up staring at the screens and stuff. I have overplayed Forza. Race Pro is always much more fun just to turn on and go online.

Oh no, once you get the DLC packs the game feels very solid! I messed around with the wheel settings for a while and came up with a really nice setup for the wheel which makes it feel extra nice. You can also really feel the tyres working under you, feel the brakes about to lock up under braking, all of these things make it feel really solid under the claims of ''bad graphics''.
The circuits and cockpits are also the most detailed on the xbox 360. Everything has a great texture, the circuits are very acurate, the cars have their cockpits fully modeled (unlike FM3 in which they seemed to stop modeling the cockpit under the players view when you change the cockpit view about with the tripple screen options.) |

I could really use some setups for the F3000 car around Valencia and Road America. I just can't find a setup that doesn't make me spin around.

I always put the downforce to minimum and leghnthen the gears for Road America. Then I just try and brave it in the corners.
