It kinda was. The actual layout they have is Hock '92, but it's labelled as '82.

The final year without the Ostkurve Chicane was 1981. I've watched part of the 1981 race, and all of the 1982 race.

That chicane was where, in 1982, Salazar took out Piquet (who was leading at the time) when Piquet was trying to lap him.

And then Piquet tries to flatten Salazar while he's still wearing his hemet. That footage has neverfailed to amuse me

It also includes a separate ''legends'' career path

wow
some of the tracks included made me feel like Shift 2 was more like GT Legends 2. this car pack just increases that

(Meant to put this here originally, but accidentally had it in the rFactor thread.)

Funny as hell watching some of the videos posted to YouTube. I think my favorite is the one from the Bund GP circuit in Shanghai where almost all the AI cars go light/airborne over that bridge, and plough into the walls right after the start.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kgg3JyuheWw

It still bothers me how a lot of the tracks are "too wide". It really changes your impressions of a number of the tracks. And in a fair few places, like on top of the mountain at Bathurst, it really changes the nature of the corners, and often just makes the tracks so much easier. It really bugs me that it looks like they did a bit of that even on Rouen, which really changes how you can take those fast bends after the pits.

The other issue I find is that the game still seems too arcadey in a number of respects. You have quite a few of those colorful pop-ups when you get achievements or whatever; Project Gotham keeps a lot of those much more fluid and less showy. The way they do a number of the promos for the game still has that arcade bent, with emphasis on contact and crashes. The tracks being "too wide" contributes to this in some cases. Also, some of the tracks, particularly Willow Springs, have too much stuff around them that's just there for show apparently, and in the case of Willow Springs, is most definitely NOT there in real life.

Finally, some of the tracks just have more that arcade feel than a "real" feel. It seems like they added some banking and loosened the turns at Willow Springs. Ambush Canyon, with all those features and things crammed in just seems like more of an arcade road course, and Alpental just seems like an afterthought to have a club-level road course. They should have modeled Salzburgring instead. And the widening coupled with just the layouts of several of the street circuits makes me think of a cross between Rush 2048 and Project Gotham Racing than it makes me thinks of real-life street circuits, like the ones the Miami courses are supposed to be modeled on.

All that being said, the sound seems great, and the handling decent enough at least. The lighting and dirty windscreen effects are kind of wild, though they do take some of the crispness away from the image.

I think Glendale is a pretty good original road course, and Shanghai and a couple of the London layouts are rather good street circuits.

Not a fan of Works upgrading supercars, but some of the saloons and hatchbacks are great, the 190 Evo II and Delta Integrale reminds me of those European Hillclimb specials.

Also enjoy time attacks against identical cars, always good to have a benchmark time.

No worries mate, next time. I thought you might have enjoyed our lobby today...for a change it filled with clean racers instead of ramming little kids and mouthy yanks.

Not bought the DLC yet...dunno if I will yet but it does look good

Yeah I'm torn right now.

I've got just over 1000 M$ Creds but am thinking about buying the unlock all cars add on instead of the DLC.

Playing online is my thang and I'd rather be able to share the experience of driving a crazy expensiv and outlandish car with my friends than keep failing to select a track that I want to race because someone in the lobby doesn't have the DLC....it's happened too many times in other games where I've spend the money only to not be able to use the track thanks to no-one in the lobby being able to use it with me.

Hey guys, got a bit of a strange issue:

Every time I go to start an Endurance race at Spa, I get DQ'd for "engine failure"?!

I'll have to try with something else.

Nice....I did it with the DBR9...did you find it a bit easy?

I found it a lot easier to do than the GT3 races.......still good fun and great to now have the Sumo Power Cars unlocked. (My wife works for SumoPower so I really wanted to get them as soon as possible LOL)

By the way I got over my quandry and decided to spend the 800M$cr on the unlock all cars rather than the DLC. I figured that offline after completing the GT1 championship I was pretty much where I wanted to be even though I'd only completed 42% career, and now just wanted to run whatever I wanted to run, whenever I wanted to and enjoy sharing some cars with lobbies full of peeps online.
