Media event is Tues evening, which is when the entry list will be published. Weds is just a test day, apart from the first hour or so when tracking shots will be down before the public are allowed in.

This is Steve Dudman and NOT William Storey. In fact I didn’t see anything of Storey last season in and around the BTC Racing garage or hospitality suite. Did anyone see him? I saw him the season before when Plato was at PMR….

I spied him at Thruxton too, don't recall if it was Media Day or Late meeting, I didn't do first TX race so know it wasn't then!

According to some records - about 500K's worth.
The product (despite what many claim) is readily available.

Wednesday is when all the photos and tracking shots are done before the testing starts. I've got a funny feeling we'll be seeing JP back.

There's really only 5 drivers on the grid this year that I think have a genuine shot at the championship (Ingram, Turkington, Hill, Cammish & Sutton), that's got to be the lowest for a while.

It's clear from the wording of the article on btcc.net though that there isn't any further "surprise" drivers to be announced.

This all feels like when Tony Gilham jumped back in a car at the end of 2015 and 2016. I wonder if they had another driver lined up and it all fell through at the last minute meaning they had to quickly find a replacement.

For me I would say Butcher and Cook could challenge those five as they've both got stronger engines than they had last year.

Looking at the sub-championships - Cook should run away with the Independents title (there's only 12 entries this year and of those his only realistic challengers are his teammate Moffat, and Thompson if the CUPRA shows more speed).

The JST looks fairly open. There's 10 eligible drivers (Pearson, Halstead, Osborne, Powell, Patterson, Hamilton, Edwards, Butel, Watson, and Doble). Based off equipment I'd say maybe Osborne vs Pearson?

I wonder if the amount of sponsorship/financial backing changed causing a reversal of the naming order? Could also connect up with a potential last minute driver change as well.

Well that’s about as underwhelming as it gets, but I suppose if his presence means we get Cook and Moffat in a nicely rebranded team…

At least that puts a stop to all the Plato rumours!

Maybe. This season just feels a bit of a flop tbh. Followed btcc for a long time and the fact you have teams with heaps of success having to pull out and teams that would seemingly win the trophy for most cars on the grid, instead of focusing efforts on success with only a couple of cars running 6. Can't say I am all that bothered about following it this year.

Hmm I struggle to see any of those drivers winning anything to be honest! Pearson and Watson are great additions but you never really know with a rookie - Ash Hand couldn’t challenge for it last year. I expect Patterson to be the strongest of those Cupras.

I think it’s Osborne’s to lose, given he’s got a fair bit of experience and a car that should see his 3 teammates winning races. Bit embarrassing if he doesn’t really!

But... if you had a field full of "back markers" you'd actually end up with some "front runners"...

Funny thing is on Sunday I was talking to someone about finances at the TCR and they said that there is money owed all over in Britcar. Even little things like a couple of hundred quid here and there for photographers and what not. Let's hope all the bills ae being paid!!
