It was the Bathurst 12 hour the RCZ entered, in 2013, with 2 cars.... they both finished and came 1-2 in the Invitational under 3 litre class. (They were the only two finishers in the class but came 16th & 23rd overall, out of 34 classified finishers. ) To their credit, other than 1x 5.0 V8 Holden they were the leading non 'Supercar' to finish... ie non Lambo, Audi R8, V-10 R8, Ferrari 458, SLS AMG, or. Porsche 997 GT3 Cup type cars.

Good effort and a pretty car.

Stunning... never knew of them until now. Love also the 402 Eclipse, for its quirkiness. It looks like the front of a small car bonded to the rear of something else much larger. Not much car in front of the windscreen but a lot of car behind.

Interesting story behind it too. Appreciated. Thanks.

Neither one of them runs would be my guess. They have also both likely been flooded by the sea at least once.....

That would be a shame, they both appear to be Eddie Bauer Lariats. What is going through the bumper on the one on the right?

The one on the right has a tag on it so I bet it ran last.

These Broncos are parked on Grand Isle and it gets washed over by hurricanes on a regular basis. And, just doing a quick scan of google earth, it appears that the vehicles showed up in late summer 2021 and we had a couple whoppers that year that would have impacted the island.

No clue what that pole is through the bumper I didn't notice it when I was there

Just a thought but because the Italian word 'quattro' sounds better, less crap (pr, as Adam says, more cool) than the German equivalent 'Vier.'....

(An Audi vier doesnt sound that cool, as an Audi four wouldnt.)



One thing I do know is than an Audi Quattro (with a capital Q)was a car (the original Group B AWD rally car) which then inspired the quattro (lower case) they took on to label the concept of their AWD road cars. The lower case of the AWD quattro range is deliberate. The only Audi with a capital Q on it is the original Audi Quattro model .

Quattro is Italian for 4 .
Audi changed the rallying world , [ and a lot of road car design , ] with its original Group B Quattro rally car .
So probably uses that name now on all its 4 wheel drive road cars to follow on from that success .
