Who's the co-commentator on the English stream with Hindy? Sounds rather enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

The KTM GT2 car is really fast, surprised how competitive it is with the GT3s.

It's absolute chaos this race!
Grello absolutely destroyed and some lucky marshalls by the looks of it. |

Manthey won't be winning this year. Good to see Laurens is okay, but that's still a hard hit.
The next Vanthoor family dinner is going to be rather tense... |

Sadly the way these GT3 cars have been going at it since the start something like that was inevitable. Never thought it would be the two brothers though...

What we saying there? Just looked like super hard racing between the two. Side drafting. Looked if anything like Dries got edged onto the grass, then Laurens lost the car.
Not sure any specific blame to be apportioned? EDIT: Deffo a small touch clearly but don't think Dries turned into him. Just took his line. |

Edit - Catsburg could be called for being the wrong side of the recovery vehicles. That didn't look great on replay. |

Putting who is at fault aside, it’s amazing what’s drivers egos can do, let down so many people because they are unable to back out of a move 3 and a half hours into a 24 hour race, ridiculous

That will raise a number of questions. The #160 catches fire in a big way, so the driver stops it and get out. But presumably due to the fire wrecking the gearbox, the car rolls down Adenauer Forst in flames.

Potentially snatching defeat from the jaws of victory - Audi Sport Team Phoenix. Last lap, been given an investigation for some sort of pit stop infringement.
I missed the actual infraction though, was it pit crew members, time violation, speed limit or something else? Edit - Ah, stewards haven't ruled on it yet. I can't see them being lenient though. Last edited by J Jay; 29 May 2022 at 14:08. |

No further action for the infraction, which seemed to be having the engine on/wheels running during fuelling.
I can't say I agree with that, if true, as much as I was rooting for Team Phoenix. |

I managed to watch quite a bit of the coverage over the weekend - have to say the pace was very impressive, the front runners seemed to be absoutely flat out for the whole race. Interesting that some of the drivers were saying that it's now a "sprint race" if you want to win rather than a more measured tactical race.
BMW had a bit of a shocker - the cars looked quick in practice and qualifying but it all fell apart in the race. The Manta may not have been out there but there were still some interesting entries further down the field - the obvious one being the Dacia Logan but there was also an Astra being driven by senior management from Stellantis (Peugeot, Citroen, vauxhall owners) - good to see them taking an active part in motorsport, I guess that can only be good for those brands motorsport programmes. |

The way the top cars carved through the lower grids at the start of the race was insane. Was sat at T1 and the way some people were driving you'd have thought it was a 1 lap dash.
Loved the variety, shame the Mini didn't make it to the end too but a big cheer for the Dacia. There has been a bit of discussion about whether it's safe to have a car like that on the circuit, but afaik they didn't get hit by anyone and were always clear in keeping to one side of the track. I think it's important to keep these lower classes included, bit of a shame there didn't seem to be any Clio cup cars or the like this year as it's all part of what makes it such an intriguing race. |
