Halfotds permanently closing some stores this year and Honda shutting the Swindon factory this summer, it was inevitable that the BTCC programmme would be affected. Henry isn't doing TCT This year presumably for the same budget reasons (Yuasa and Honda partially paid for his campaigns).

Expect to see two drivers bringing a sizeable cheque. My guess is one full season (Senna) and one seat changing occupant frequently.

Isn't there some sort of ruling preventing more than a certain number of driver changes during a season? (I realise that this must have been waived last year so that PMR could do what they did. maybe 2021's circumstances will still be classed as exceptional?)

I see the new TOCA engine from M-Sport is nearly ready for some track testing, does any one know what engine this is based on or is it a completly new design in house by M-Sport

With m-sports massive ties with Ford I'd guess its based on a Ford engine

Maybe but they’ve also effectively had a fairly big relationship with VAG through their Bentley GT programme.

Most likely they’ll never say so it can’t be referred to by that brand. Like the Swindon isn’t a Vauxhall.

While they might not say what the base engine is, the rocker cover is usually a give away.

Yes. Was in the cammish article on the btcc website. Said they will announce their first driver this Friday (5th march) and the 2nd driver in the coming weeks

Brilliant! Just when we thought we were down to three title contenders, and Cammish's exit showed Team Dynamics were in decline, Shedden returns!

Interestingly, this surely means that Team Dynamics have enough money for one top driver, and they decided to pay off Cammish to get Shedden, thinking that Shedden was enough of an upgrade on Cammish for it to be worth it. Personally, I'm not so sure, but it's great to have Shedden back. Now hopefully Rowbottom is in the second car, although it would be a shame to lose Matt Neal from the grid.

One thing is for sure Flash knows what it takes to win this championship. Whether you see his ability as an upgrade or not he has the experience of what it takes to come out on top. I imagine it's a hell of a lot easier to attract manufacturers/sponsors for a new car going into the hybrid era when you're the reigning champions.
