I'm in for this Hope the bikes are allowed out this year, as it's one of only a couple I do each year with bikes.

O.k. I'm showing my newbie ignorance yet again but what is this meeting ? It sounds like a great antidote to too much Christmas but all I can find about it is "cars and bikes". What cars ? What bikes ? How many races ? What time does it start and finish ? Is it fun ? Will I be any use even though I'm brand new and never had anything to do with bike races ?

Steve (getting bored already with my season finished - probably)

Usually runs something like 9am - 3pm or thereabouts.

There're 2 groups of cars (tin tops & open wheel?), and I think 3 of bikes including one lot of sidecars. Each group gets 1 practice session + 2 races. Bikes get an additional race, time/conditions permitting.
Bikes are mostly ridden by Santa, which is odd, 'cus I thought there was only 1 of him, but lots of clones make it to Mallory on boxing day.

It's as much fun as any other clubbie (although disappointingly sparse last year after all the bike sessions were cancelled due to icy conditions after pre-Christmas heavy snowfall).

As with any clubbie meeting, all help is gratefully appreciated. Don't worry about the bikes, there are usually a few more bike marshals than car marshals, and in any case, it's a great event to experience marshalling bikes if you haven't before.

EDIT - should add grids are usually very good (except perhaps the side-cars, which if memory serves usually have somewhere around 10-15, but not getting to see them very often, and with Mallory being a short circuit, it's not disappointing)

I'll be there as usual, and hoping it's a bit warmer at sign-on this time round, -14 last year, it was soooo cold but the on post company more than made up for it. The Plumb Pudding meeting is a great way to spend Boxing Day.

This year one group will be for saloons and the other for sports/sports racing cars. As far as car races go, the grid for the first race will be decided on the receipt of entry (i.e. the first driver to enter gets pole and so on), with the second race being the reverse finishing order of race one.

That will make a change from Fred's special. Cold can of pop and a frozen mince pie

Will be there again, great way to end the year and it attracts a very good crowd.
