Ralf Criticises His Team
Ralf Schumacher was critised his team to
his retirement on lap 22 in the US GP. He expressed his isappointed in the press release and os own web site. "For two laps I tried to understand what they were telling me on the radio, what was the weather forecast, if I had to go back to the pits to put rain tyres. But I had nothing, no information from my team." http://f1.racing-live.com/en/index.h...01024330.shtml |

Ralf Schumacher was obviously disappointed, but I think its improperly to express his critism publicly.
At least, Mario Theissen think such criticism is not justified. |

I agree he should go, but why has there been all this talk about him extending his contract? I assume BMW want him to stay and are willing to pay for it. If he goes to another team his pay will be significantly cut IMO.

What made me a little sad is that a reply was given by Mario Theissen, and not by old Frank; it seems a sign that, if not formally, Williams has actually been taken over by BMW

Well, Ralf does have a right to vent. If it's the teams fault that he went out, then he does have a reason to be peeved.
But whether such things should be done publicly are a matter of opinion. |

Well, seeing as Ralf is paid MILLIONS of Dollars to drive for Williams, shouldn't he be the expert and announce to the team that HE is making the decision to come in for wet tyres? For God's sake, he isn't 8 years old any more, he should know (with his years of racing experience) what the weather will do and HOW TO DRIVE. The buck stops with him and criticising his team when he spun off is a bit rich IMHO.

Lot of fuss about nothing IMO. The only reason we hear about it is because of media access. He's entitled to his opinion and so is Team Willy. They've said nothing so far so I'm sure its not something they didn't know about.

Yeah stick it them Ralf!
He was obviously staying on slicks to see how long he could last to help Monty's strategy. Meanwhile Wacky Juan falls asleep at the start, then thinks he's in a smash up derby & ballses up the race completely. |

if Ralf doesn't like his team he could always do us all a favour and just leave.

And, JPM obviously disappointed, more disappointed than Ralf, but he wasn't expressed his critism to teams publicly.

I think more to the point is that Ralf shouldn't complain - even if he was being used as a guinea pig for Montoya, so what - welcome to team sport sonny jim, if you don't like working for your teammate every now and again, you need to get yourself a contract like big bro |

Ralf's complaint is right in a way. But the mistake of going off was Ralf's fault. Not just Ralf who staying on slicks for 1 lap on wet, JPM had to do it for almost three laps because he must served the drive through penalty. It has been discuss before (http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=44529), why the team wouldn't to stop and change tyres and then order JPM to do his drive through next lap? |

I liked the bit where he claimed that full-wets would be the way to go if he had still been in the race as JPM was at that time?

RS has to stay with Williams in order to have a car fast enough to cover Mikey's backdoor.
