First Retirement at Le Mans prediction thread

I thought it would be neat to see who we think may be the first retirement for this years race. Here is a list of some of the cars that have struggled so far.

#10 Arena Zytek
#12 and #13 Courage
#20 Pierre Bruneau Pilbeam
#24 Noel Del Bello
#29 T2M Dome
#53 JLOC Lambo
#85 and #86 Spyker

My personal money is on the #20 Pilbeam.

I think the first retirement will be a big crash, instead of mechanical troubles. Remember BMS Aston last year. Hard to tell who will be the victim...

Yep, with three Audis to choose from, it's a tough call........

No need to choose. Two of them will take each other out and the third will drive right into them, to make sure they don't come back!

OTOH: that would ruin the race, though, pretty much....

2004....

Two of the four Audis crash at the Porsche Curves on the Ferrari's oil, and fight back for the rest of the race. That was fun to watch...

Anyway, my prediction for first retirement is #13 Courage.

First retirement is hard...the BMS crash last year demonstrated how flukeish that one can be.

Fewest laps recorded? Going to go with T2M on that one.

Some of the others mentioned here are good, but I feel that Zytek will just keep replacing throttle cables etc., and other teams will also keep their cars running in hobbled form. First problem? Now that's a tough one. One of the Courages might beat the T2M Dome to that.

Interesting point. Given the number of problems, it points to an installation issue which, hopefully, will be rectified. They didn't have a problem with the Hybrid's cable last year.

T2M Dome for sure, they aren't ready to finish -or be more or less competitive- a 1000km race. Le Mans 24 Hrs? completely impossible.

Taking a cursory glance weather the weather could be the deciding factor here - looks a bit iffy right up to the race weekend.

I did well with my prediction last year of BMS Scuderia Italia...but it is hard to see the T2M doing anything...but I agree with the crash...perhaps the Krohn Risi Ferrari...

How about on lap 13 ..... the 3 Audi's and 2 Pug's all take each other in a nice slow section and end up battling for 6th place until the finish ..... and we have a surprise winner and a teriffic race too !!!

I miss that there won't be a Welter Racing entry, which everyone always used to say would be first out, but usually wasn't.

T2M is my guess.

I wouldn't shed a tear if it happened, but I am really stoked for the battel of the giants Audi and Peugeot and it would certainly strange if that battle was decided after one or two minutes.
