Well, its good to know things are coming via pipeline... as opposed to coming via FedEx.
Thanks for keeping us posted Liz. |

The final race of the season and the awards banquet all fall in the next 2 weeks. No more gag orders, threats of suit, etc. Patience is a virtue. I hope (and suspect) he's got a few big kegs of that "dry powder"..

Liz I am impressed! Do you think you could give Bernie a call (or e-mail)and tell him that Cart cars need to run Spa.

Yes, that's the one I used.
Funny you should mention His Bernieness -- we sent a strongly worded letter to him from 10-Tenths decrying Austria and signed by something like 105 of us, and got a reply from Bernie himself... and a grumpy reply from Max to the cc we sent him ... AND a response from Ferrari to our fax. When 10-Tenths talks, Motorsport Listens. (We wish.) |

I'm actually surprised that the address worked, Liz! I feel like Sherlock Holmes! (More like Scooby Doo). It's great that The Man Himself replied. CART really does care about its fans. |

I hereby suggest we refer to Pook as TMH.

I think that will be decided after the announcements, paul...
If they are great, he'll truly be The Man, but if not... after all the expectations... |

You will get an answer only if your surname ends with a vowel or the consonant "n".

Liz,
Just curious, could you tell us what you asked of TMH in your original letter to him? I know it was probably covered elsewhere in this ten-tenths forum earlier, but a refresher would be great. Thanks! |

Dear Mr. Pook:
Thanks for all you are doing to get CART back on its feet, but we really do need some announcements soon. At the two websites where I hang out (tentenths.com and www.rfmsports.com we get a lot of jeering from the Invisible Racing League people who keep on telling us that it's obvious our series is dead because everyone is deserting and nobody is coming on board. We really do need some positive news fairly urgently. Please do come over and check out our site(s) and add to the Champ Car forum if you feel so inclined. We're debating some marketing ideas that might amuse you. For instance, why not get rock bands to be sponsors? The ZZ Top Champ Car Series has some possibilities for example. Thanks again for your yeoman work and we look forward to some announcements soon. |

Looked to me like Pook damn near peed down his pants leg to let the world know Bridgestone came on.I think if he had some real news,it would be out in order to keep up the price of MPH.In my opinion,CART leadership has an overactive imagination and a talent for leading on the wishfull thinkers.

My apologies for that "GoFaster" but I just get the feeling you're only trying to stir up trouble by saying that. CART is in good shape, and I get pretty concerned when IRL fans come in here and rant about CART's imminent demise (BTW, the 'demise' has been 'just around the corner' for nearly a year now).

GoFaster, if you need to indulge in a few more days of gloom, doom and gloating, I would recommend Seventh Gear, where every hopeful statement anyone makes is called "spin". I swear they're ready to commit mass suicide over there.
But we have two more days to wait until good news begins to come forward, and some of us insist on remaining cheerful and hopeful. Good luck to your team on Sunday. |

Yeah I know what you mean about their "spin" comments..
I was over at another message board yesterday. I could "NOT" believe what some of those "so-called" race fans are on about. You would swear that the IRL was the Second Coming of the almighty himself and only it's disciples can really understand the deeper complexities of open wheel racing in America. It is very reminiscent of a preacher brow beating his followers into believing his gospel or being damned forever. Well if that is really the “truth” call be repugnant, a misguided soul and send me straight to Hell. …..There is better racing there. |
