Channel 10 GP Coverage
I know this is more F1, but this forum is probably more geographically relevant!
According to the TV guides CH 10 are putting two NCIS episodes before putting the Spanish GP on at 11.30!! Half an hour of Bill and Neil replaying the afternoons RPM and we'll be lucky if the race starts before midnight. "Home of Motorsport" - you are kidding. It's getting as bad as 9 use to be. |

edit.....if Foxtel were to get F1 it would be regarded as a flagship program (designed to sign up viewers) and would be shown live. |

winkie people
winkie I'd be happy with what we've got. If 10 decide to ditch everything and broadcast Big Brother and american soaps all day every day, we'd probably be a helluva lot worse off.. |

In any case, I was talking about simulcast, not exclusive broadcast rights. Mainly because it'd make it a bit easier for me to organise taping of whatever race was on. I work shiftwork and given that I work 2 weekends out of 3, I often miss watching the races (F1, MotoGP and World Superbikes) live. Same for the V8s. |

How do I know - I work at Dreamworld where it is based and all the staff just wish it would go away. All the sponsors, radio contest winners of tickets ,etc etc etc that are allowed to go to the first night were arriving when I left 20 mins ago. These delays are just c..p! Like last weekends Moto GP. No need for it. |

Channel 9 started showing Formula 1 as of the 1981 German Grand Prix at Hockenheim (a beauty of a race too!), and were the only Australian channel to cover it until the end of 2002.
Prior to that, i have seen reference (in an old RCN) to the ABC showing races on delay during the latter half of 1980, starting with the 1980 British GP from Brands Hatch. Former member Ray Bell also made mention in the past of Channel 7 showing the 1976 championship decider from Mt Fuji in Japan. As for ChampCars, Channel 9 only showed the Indy500 prior to 1991, when they covered the first Gold Coast IndyCar race, and from there showed all rounds of the CART World Series until the end of 1995, when Channel 10 got the rights. |

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has seen that 'Big Brother' continues to run overtime on a Sunday for the sixth consecutive year. I'm starting to set my alarm half an hour later for the F1, after two crap shows of NCIS, which are shown in their entirety.
