f1truestory has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
good & bad circuit

good circuit, not boring race, many overtake:
OLD hockenhiem
Monza
Spa

Bad:
New hockenhiem
Monaco
Hungary
Y not the Fia kick some boring circuit away and add some new one like Russia?

I think the USGP is good too. Maylasia, Japan, Spa. I dont really dislike any of the tracks that much. Then again I get up in the morinigs to watch practive on the Speed channel. Nothing in F1 really bores me. Hungary and Monaco are pretty much the closest to being boring.

If we're talking current circuits, then:

Good
Spa
Suzuka
Indianapolis (the front straight provides some good overtaking oppurtunities)

Bad
Hungaroring
Barcelona (would be good if teams didn't know it blindfolded)
Monaco (love the history and all but it's a procession)

Barcelona and Hungary always seem to have boring races, Magny Cours has no atmosphere and Monaco is'nt an f1 track.

Malasia, Montreal and Spa always are good races.

and I think we have to wait and see how the new Hockenheim GP will be, there has'nt been a race there yet(and the atmosphere in the stadium is always great).

How can you say that Montreal is a bad circuit? To mosty people it represents what F1 should be- thrilling unpredictable racing fit for the best motorsport series in the world.

The real bad ones are Hungaroring, Imola (theoretically a good track, fun to drive in GP3, but routinely a dull processional race),Barcelona and I guess Monaco (what an anacronism, its a shame but F1 has outgrown it, when's the last time we saw any kind of overtaking move there?)

Spa, Suzuka, Interlagos and the old Hockenheimring are the best- I'm not keen on the new layout but let's see what racing we get there.

I agree with Boots and and Steve-Let's not judge the new Hockenhem until we see it in action. It could produce one of the best races all year.

GOOD-
Monza
Spa
Magny-Cours

BAD-
Hungaroring
Indianapolis
Barcelona

Okay, I'm not limiting myself to current, or even past F1 venues, but my idea of what good and bad tracks are.

GOOD

Spa, in all it's forms
Montléhery
Nurburgring Nordscliefe
the dearly departed Ă–sterreichring
Brands Hatch
Laguna Seca
Brno
Mosport
Watkins Glen
Motegi (road course)
Mt. Panorama

BAD

Magny-Cours
Imola
Barcelona
All the oval infields, except maybe Texas World Speedway
Silverstone
Hungaroring
Really, any urban street circuit
I could go on and on...

WHAT MAKES A GOOD TRACK?

Make it wide, wide enough for 3 touring cars. Give it lots of elevation changes. Carve it out of the countryside, leaving natural foliage everywhere you can. Make sure the runoff and curbing allows for "creativity" with the boundaries of the track. Have a lot of long, slightly winding flat-out section to allow for slipstreaming, a few punctuated by panic stops that encourage overtaking. Have at least on signature corner, be it a superfast banked sweep, a sharp hairpin with little grip, or a drop off the edge of a cliff (ie the Corkscrew). Add off-camber corners and blind apexes for variety, but keep their numbers limited. A corner to definitly have? A fast, tight downhill drop while turning left, taken with your foot flat to the floor, with forest on both sides.
