Besnards Debut!!
Just wondering what everyone elses thoughts were on David Besnard`s performance on the Gold Coast?
He has a few early spins but after getting used to its performance he settled down into a good rythem and finished in 7th position after a good pit strategy and continued to stay out of trouble. Personally i think he did a really creditable job and wouldnt bo out of his depth with a full time ride. But please tell me your opinions on how he did? |

There's already a thread about his debut - no need for this one.

It was a good race by DB. But we all know that the Indy race will be his last Champ car race. Although I have no idea why Gore wants to keep him in Supercars, he is useless in V8 supercars.

I was gonna say - bezzy would be stoked to get a 7th in a V8. As far as I know, apart from a few co-driver supplemented results and a fluke win at queensland raceway in '02 he's only netted a few 9ths and 10ths and that's the extent of his sucess in the v8 series.
His V8 c'ship placings are- '03 - 21st out of 31 full time drivers '02 - 8th '01 - 23 This year, he's last out of the full time drivers and for argument's sake, if he won the day @ indy, he'd still be 29th FOR GOD'S SAKE - SIGN A DEAL WITH A CHAMP CAR TEAM NOW |

Bessy was always close to the front when he was with Stone Brothers, but seem to hit too many things to wind up being in contention.

I wouldn't ever say he was "useless". Harsh! Has not got the results he was looking for. If a Champcar deal comes up, do you think he'd say no? Of course not!
Maybe some it was temperament and impatience in V8 Supercar. The results didn't come as fast as the Koica debut Lakeside thing perhaps suggested and overdriving came to the party instead. Whatever, he should be well-pleased on his Gold Coast efforts as many were probably waiting for him to **** up. |
