Is Ortelli French or from Monaco? The old Oreca livery had the flag of Monaco next to his name, now it has the flag of France.

Ortelli is indeed Monegasque, but Monegasques often seem to get lumbered with the tricolore. Were it me, I'd be ticked.

I'm guessing he's "French" because it's a French team, quite unlike Freisinger or Aston Martin they have a national agenda. I think it's like when Bentley made David Brabham have the Union Jack on his suit (even though he does live there, he's not English!).

Well , I was thinking that the original Audi color scheme (Oreca) was a bit on the bland side but , it looks stunning now as does the Perscarolo C60 !!!

Actually I prefer the "old" livery. There is too much white on the new version. But other than that it still looks great.

Both cars are lookers indeed. The Oreca car now truly looks the part. The Pescarolo also looks brilliant as usual.

Stéphane Ortelli was born in 1970 at Hyères, near Marseille. Now, he has the double nationality, French and Monégasque. Last edited by PascaLM; 14 Apr 2005 at 17:16. |

Something funny : at the HTTT, during the tests, Emmanuel Collard was in his first lap with the Pescarolo. He was amazed by the car, and especially its speed. And he came to overtake Stephane Ortelli (who was in the Audi) at the start of the Mistral straight ; he did it sooo easely that he had the time - and the pleasure - to wave Stéphane !
Tale told by François Hurel in the last Le Mans Racing issue |
