Sydney Motogp Viewing! Fox Studios
Okay as was mentioned in another thread last week the quality of motorcycle racing commentary on free-to-air (read: channel 10) television in Australia has taken a massive dive since the untimely death of barry sheene.
The need for commentors that ACTUALLY CARE (especially about the smaller gp classes) is in high demand. Therefore, for those of us that do not have payTV (or have but would just like some company to watch the race) I have designated the sports bar at fox studios as the offical 10-10ths motogp viewing location for 2004. sports central - Fox studios Sydney. fox studios The Bar has is 2 levels and has some 45 television screens, food, and a bowling ally! WTF? ANyway, i went there on Sunday and had a really good time. Met a few motogp fans (there was only about 6 in total we basically had the place to outselves) and watched the entire 3 races in comfort. So this is what i'm going to do every race! Join me!! |

excellent
 would be good but I live 6 hours away  can you actually here the commentary in there ? Pay TV have Nick Harris and some other fella who's name escapes me right now but they are great and are at the track and talk to the riders and give lots of inside info (or what the riders want to tell them anyway) and just generally are 100% better than channel seriously. sounds like a heck of alot of fun at the sports bar though , would ove to check it out

well i'm glad someone other then myself thinks its a good idea! Yeah, its just the usual FOX1 commentary (is that eurosport) with Nick and whatshisname.
Anyway, i met a really nice guy named chris and both he and I are going to be there next race. So there will be at least 2! It might be a nice to meet some fellow 10-10thers in the flesh. |

Sorry Asha, I did see this post the other day and it's certainly a good idea but I turned off my computer in disgust as I live in Perth... Bit of a walk.

The place is just begging to be used (especially on a sunday night where it closes at 11pm).
Good luck finding a public location to watch the races. But if you are ever in Sydney! edit: oh and Marcus, yes you can listen to the commentary (not like at a normal pub where they have a jukebox blaring away). Last edited by asha; 4 May 2004 at 08:23. |

closes at 11pm , gee that would be close to the end of the Moto GP's then , I certainly wouldnt want to get chucked out half way through a race.
would be good too if they showed the F1 races as well

yeah well they stayed open till the end of the race, which was good, some places wouldn't care.

If I am ever in Sydney on GP night I will be there. I go to Sydney a bit so might happen. Great idea you have there asha.

I'd love to give it a go to , but i very rarely head to Sydney , but i tell ya if im there and there's a GP on Im heading to Fox studio's
