Qld 300 Tipping
So guys, you watch the racing, your love the politics, you ***** about the points system and cry about the officials, BUT, can you tell me who is going to WIN this weekend at the Queensland 300 ... ???
My bet is Marcos, but Ingall and Skaife should give that blue Falcon something to think about ... |

If Ambrose does not win this weekend, it will be because he lost, not because anyone else won!

My bets are
For Holden - Richards, Tander, wild card Morris (new engine, test track) & for Ford - Ambrose, Radisich ( 2001 win, test track ) |

Skaife for Holden and Ambrose for Ford. Gee, that's original...
Dark Horses- Radisich, Weel. |

I must be missing something but I can't understand the logic behind this statement. Why 3? And if not for a car controller that wasn't 100% on the ball it would have been 5. As for #1 HRT, will the big G (Grech) be on a witch-hunt like last year's race after another engine failure? |

Thanks Rocket, I surprise myself sometimes
Was anyone at Turn Three, did Skaife buckle under the pressure and stick it the wrong gear or shift down too early? Or is he risking this year by running the old engines? Im not a blue oval fan, but how good is it to see SBR spanking everyone? Good to see Ford are finally backing them to the tune they deserve, almost! |

Ambrose is the best Ford driver since Moffat in my opinion.

I was at turn 3 for the run off and the race, just after the 100m marker, so thet have already braked before downshifting. In the shoot out, Skaife understeered going in and ran wide on the exit so as to staightline his exit to compensate but not enough, dropping a tenth to Ambrose. A result of not enough heat in the front tyresand it was a cool, overcast day at that time (11-11.30am) Skaife almost always skips gears on the downchanges and here was no exception- 6th to 2nd, straight across. I'd be surprised if he wrong-slotted there as he does it lap after lap in the same way. |

I agree Mattracer. Johnson would certainly be in front of Ambrose at the moment, however, I'm sure Marcos has a few championships and a couple of Bathursts in him yet ...

And then there's Glenn Seton on the pecking order who was the last Championship winner for Ford and who MIGHT have a few Bathursts in him yet...

Ummmmm, Glenn and Bathurst. I don't know. I have a feeling he still may be trying for a few more years. However, if he gets the ball rolling, who knows ...

Gricey carried the "best driver never to win Bathurst" title for many years, before handing it over to Glenn and i'm sure (hope), Glenn will hand it on to someone else.
I heven't been on this forum since the Thursday before the 300 so didn't get a chance to put my predictions in. If i had they would have been:- Qualfying/grid 1. Ambrose 2. Skaife 3. Ingall For the race, I couldn't decide between Skaife and Ambrose, but I was sure Ingall would follow them both home. My tip for a dark horse was Morris. Talk about dark, he got 5 seconds of airtime. |
