Can anyone tell me if Le Mans is going to be on Eurosport again as it has been for the last couple of years, and if it is are they going to show cover though the night like they did a couple of years ago, or even better show the whole, like they get over in the US on Speedvision.
Also does anyone know if Channel 4 are going to show the race, I read on a web-site, weeks ago, they where close to doing a deal. |

Thanks for that, but there looks like good coverage on Saturday, but Sunday, where is the coverage. Lets just hope Channel 4 or the BBC show the race as well, as we have MG and Bentley returning to Le Mans this year and this will generate alot of interest in the race.

UK TV Coverage of Le Mans
Channel 4 have secured the broadcasting rights to this year's Le Mans 24-Hour race.
The world's most famous endurance event will be broadcast continuously on Channel 4's online motoring channel 4car.co.uk, with highlights on the main terrestrial channel. TV coverage will be presented by a team of Penny Mallory, Jason Plato and Mike Brewer on June 16 and 17. Peter Grimsdale, Channel 4's head of cross-platform content, said: "We are very pleased to be broadcasting this prestigious race on 4car.co.uk and Channel 4. "Sixty thousand people from the UK went to Le Mans last year, and with the return of MG and Bentley this year, British interest is likely to be even stronger. "We will be able to give fans unique, innovative access to racing action, supported by the latest news, interviews and lead positions for the entire 24 hours. " But will any of the race be live on terrestrial TV ? The annual Le Mans event is one of the most famous motor races in the world and one of the longest running. |

I saw in the latest Autosport that Channel 4 are going to do 30 minutes live at the start and finish of the race, and also have a 30 minute round up programme on the race on Saturday evening, with possibly even another round up programme in the early hours of the Sunday morning.

They could always prerecord his bit
Surely the programme will have to have a section at the beginning where they explain to the layman the history of the race and go through this year's runners and riders etc. I assume (and hope to god) that Brewer et al will not be doing any commentary during the live coverage, leaving it to someone 'professional' to do it. Anyway, I don't care, as I'll be there in person. (Note to self: You have 4 weeks to work out how to program the video) |

Sometimes folks think we Americans are spoiled. We have to endure 25 straight hours of unintrerupted coverage on Speedvision.

Does anyone know whether Channel 4 are putting on any coverage of Le Mans, because in one of the Autosport magazines said that Channel 4 had confirmed that they are to cover the start and finish live each for 30 minutes, and possibly a round up programme as well as a highlights programme in the early hours of Sunday. But I have checked the Channel 4 motoring website and there is no sign, so has anyone else heard anything?

Saturday 11.55 - 12.25 14.35 - 14.50 01.40 - 05.35 Sunday 16.00 - 16.45 So I think my weekend will be bit of Channel 4, with other bits on Eurosport and the rest of the weekend tuned into Radio Le Mans via the Autosport web site. |
