New to cadet Karting,some questions

Hi, Just bought my 7 year old son a cadet Kart (wright chassis ,commer engine) cos he insists he's going to be the new schuey!
I have a few basic questions that I would like some info on please.
1)What tyre pressures do I put on front and rears.
2)What mix oil/petrol do I use for the 2 stroke cadet engine.
3)What setting should I adjust the throttle to,my sons become pretty competent on the restricted 4 stroke hire cadets but I dont want him with full throttle on a quicker Kart.

I'm pretty much in th same position as you but my son is nearly 10. Tyre pressures differ on the temp of the day, whether it's wet or dry etc and is not an exact science, we usually run around 20-30 psi depending on the day, just have to experiment i'm afraid, but as a rule of thumb if it's colder we add more pressure and if it's warmer we reduce the pressure. Alot of people do it the other way on the basis that if you lower the pressure you have more tyre in contact therefore more heat. Each to their own.

As for Oil, we use Caster Oil and 200-220ml / 5L of Unleaded, this is I believe the norm. We were advised when we started to only use Caster Oil to practice as apparently it's easier on the engine.

As for Throttle, just adjust the screw at the back of the accelerator a turn or so, but you'll probably find that he won't get onto full revs anyway whilst he's learning, Comer engines need to keep the revs up and that takes practice and experience as it involves greater entry / exit speeds.

it gives you all the basics,
tyre pressure,
tracking,
fuel mix,
carb settings, etc

I remember when we started. It takes time but you pick things up gradually and before you know it your tinkering around trying to get more speed but have nooooooo idea what your doing!!


But......maybe thats just a problem of mine
