Attention - Anyone involved in Irish Motorsport!

Hi folks,

Please see below. Many of you will probably have received this via your racing club or class co-ordinator, but for anyone who hasn't already seen it. Please please please offer any support that you can.

Mick Johnson Benefit Night

11th September 2008
Naas Court Hotel

One of the most well known faces around the Mondello Park paddock, Mick Johnson, was recently involved in a major road accident and is currently hospitalised with serious and possibly long term injuries.

Mick is a senior member of the maintenance staff at the circuit and is well known to competitors through his years of experience of rescuing their cars from gravel traps and cleaning up the circuit after their incidents. Usually found in the paddock sitting behind the wheel of a teleporter or tractor awaiting a call out, Mick was always good humoured and ready to help and has made many friends in motor racing over the years.

Mick and his wife Loretta were involved in a horrific traffic accident on May 25th when during high winds, a tree fell on their car while they were driving home on the Dublin to Monasterevin Road. Mick has been hospitalised ever since and remains partially paralysed.

A benefit night for Mick and Loretta has been organised by the circuit on Thursday September 11th in the Naas Court Hotel at 8PM. The evening will consist of a race night, raffle and auction with all proceeds going directly towards the Mick Johnson Fund.

We are looking, not only for a big turn out on the night, but also items to raffle and auction and would be grateful for any support you can give.

If you have something which you would like to contribute please contact Ian Beatty on 045-860200 or you can e-mail ibeatty@mondellopark.ie

If anyone would like to make a personal donation they can do so by lodging money to the Mick Johnson Fund, Bank of Ireland Main Street Naas,
Account No. 90628220 Sort No. 90 – 12 – 39
