Scary Trev is the champ

Trevor Willis has taken the first British Championship for himself and for Steve Owen's OMS marque with victory in the first run off at Loton Park.

This is a great result for two of the nice guys of the sport who've worked tremendously hard in the development of the car and is a testament to the abilities of both, and I'm thrilled to be able to offer my congratulations for this tremendous achievement.

Scott Moran was unable to take his hat-trick having missed a couple of rounds during work, but I was chatting with him after the event and he was quick to say the right man had won this year. I agree, and anyway I doubt the overall result would have changed anyway due to the way dropped scores work. Both have driven brilliantly all year. Roger Moran has shown he's not losing any speed with an excellent third. Revalation of the year has to be Jos Goodyear taking fourth in a 1600, pushing the much bigger cars hard all season. His driving has been outstanding in a car that clearly suits him, and I'm pleased to see prodigious talent harnessed to the right equipment and banishing the occasionally erratic performances of the past. We all knew the speed was there, now it's been joined by consistency in a car which has the potential to change the face of hillblimbing of the future.

The other notable event was the first championship round win for Will Hall in the new 'big' Force, again another tremendous acheivement for the crew making the most of mixed conditions.

All in all, a great year for this branch of the sport. Well done all and thanks for the entertainment.

Hearty congratulations Trevor & Steve.

If I had the money to throw myself at the British Countryside at the weekend. I would chose a car built by the constructor I respected and trusted the most. I'd drive an OMS.
