Too many penalties?!

I honestly think the number of stop go penalties for minor infringments has gone over the top. Countless penalties wrecked several exciting battles today at Hidden Valley. Also, I ask, why are the driver's penalised for pit crew members mistakes? It doesn't make sense.

Surely running over a wheel nut and failing to remove velcro is not the drivers fault. Why then are they punished?

I'd love to hear your opinions on this one.

I reckon pit lane infringments made by pit crew members (such as the velcro in Larkhams case) are way to tough. In Larkhams situation, he should not have to do a stop go because he did not improve in track position. The team should probably be given a fine or something like that.

I dont like the inconsistancy in penalties.
Seems some drivers and teams get away with things that others are punished for.
They need to write a good rule book and use it for everyone.

Totally agreed Accee.

-Write a definate rule book, and leave nothing to interpretation.

-Since everything has to be proven by TV evidence these days, fit 2 cameras to every car.

-Get those on board lights opperational. From what I'm told, they can be set up on a corner by corner basis- no denying when a pace car is on the track, or when a driver is going into a yellow flag zone.

Every coupel of years everyone gets all excited and yell a lot about driving standards and penalties etc. It is a continuous cycle, it'll fade away by the end of the season, and we'll get back to racing

I agree on this penalty shenannagins, Baz sums it up well.

I have to disagree with you Troy, it was fair that he came in to get the strip ripped off as his manditory pit stop was not completed as all requirements were not done, if he finished with the velcro strip on he would of been disqualified i spose. Sure he did not improve in track position, but every other team must rip it off too.

Question: What if you have a bit of a run in on the track, and say the velcro stip came off (ok, unlikely, lets say that window was smashed ). At the pitstop, they don't take the velcro strip off, because they can't. They didn't complete the CPS. What do you do??

In Larkhos instance it is unfortunate, but they might as well of forgot to of changed the tyres - they did not fifull the requirements of a manditory stop. It stinks, I feel for the guy who was supposed to do it, he must be guttered.
